Agony ripped through me.I trembled,sobbing.
“I’m his sister…not a mistress.Please believe me!”
“Someone call the police!”
I begged the crowd, but no one moved.
I lay there, beaten to a pulp, my clothes in tatters, utterly broken.
Finally,hospital security arrived.
“This is a hospital! How dare you cause a riot here? Get them out of here right now!”
Sophie,still on me,wasn’t fazed.
She aimed her camera at the guards and threatened, “Perfect! Let the whole internet see what trash your hospital employs!”
“Hiring a vile doctor?Who’d come here?Stop me,and I’ll expose you for shielding a mistress!”
Her well - rehearsed speech left the guards frozen, torn.
Despair sank in.
Then,an elderly woman spoke.“What if it’s a mistake? My husband was saved by her…I trust her.”
Her eyes held fear, but she stood up for me.
Sophie,unhinged,shoved her down.
“Who are you?Defending her?Were you a tramp too?Your husband’s blind!”
The woman,pale with anger,pointed.“You’ll get what’s coming!”
Sophie kicked her, dragging her by the hair.
“I hate do-gooders like you!Let’s fix you too!”
She tossed the woman inside, her friends swarming.
The woman,tearful,took a slap.
Seeing her hurt for me, I somehow found the strength to grab Sophie’s ankle.
Bloodied,I screamed,“Run!”
Sophie was my target,not her.
Furious,Sophie kicked my chest.Bones cracked, but I held on until the woman escaped.
Exhausted,I collapsed.
“Bitch!” Sophie exclaimed, her eyes lighting up as she saw a comment on the live stream.
“Write‘mistress’on her face—great idea!”
She pinned me down firmly and began carving the word into my skin with a sharp blade.
I screamed,passing out,only to be slapped awake.
