Chapter 107

My face burned when I heard his words. Alpha Victor, the devil behind my misfortunes.
I feel my teeth gritted on their own; I struggle to control my anger, the pains from my past, and the trauma I have been through.
What was he doing here? Did he come to get his daughter? Did he come for Liam?
'Alpha Victor?" I asked the man who looked up at me from his bent posture and he nodded, coughing in-between.
I bit my lips till I tasted blood, the pain and misfortunes riling up my anger even more. I felt powerful; the angrier I felt, my eyes felt hot, my nose itched, my breath harbored, and my entire body trembled.
My fingers would have dug into my palms and drawn out blood if I hadn't bitten them off due to nervousness.
'What does he think he is doing here?" I felt my lips tremble.
If I looked scary, I don't know, but I saw everyone shift away from me except Liam, who struggled to stand to his feet and covered my palm with his.
'Moon, you have got me." His voice penetrated my dark consciousness.
'Did he come for the already dead Diana?" I heard myself laugh.
And again, I wasn't in control of myself but I didn't fight it. I let myself feel whatever feeling it was I needed to feel.
'He…" The man tried talking but Serenity cut him off.
'I have a confession to make." She looked at our faces one after the other.
I waited for her to say she was the one who let him in but she didn't, she instead started a random and unnecessary talk about how she had always had a crush on my mate.
I growled at her but Liam's warm palm kept me in place.
She continued to how she slept with Aiden. Gross, who wanted to hear about her sexual encounter with some guy? Probably not some random guy, but who cares? All I wanted right now was to get to Victor and smack some sense right into his face.
She violated the order and went into the cell because she could not ignore her feelings, but so what? Like, girl! Get the fuck off with these boring stories! I fucking don't want a storyteller, I need to vent on my sworn enemy right now!
'And I found out we are mated." She finally got straight to the point.
I must confess too, that got to me. Aiden is mated? No, wait! Aiden is mated to her right after the death of his mate!
I started laughing again, all these sounded funny. It felt like a joke.
'He killed Diana." She spilled yet again and the laughter died at once.
'Ooh!" I found myself saying instead.
'He had to." She was defending him this time.
I would defend him, too, if I was in her shoes. I would defend him even now but we would come back to this later.
She dropped to her knees right before Liam and I. 'Please tamper justice with mercy." She pleaded her head on the floor.
Liam's hand tightened around mine. I looked at him and watched him try to talk, but someone barged into the bay again, panting even harder and more red in the face than the first.
'What is it this time?" My biological mother asked, she sounded tired.
'Someone…" He panted pointing towards the open door.
'If you won't talk, get out," I ordered him to his surprise but Liam came in immediately to reduce the tension.
'Dead. Someone is dead."
'Diana?" Kia asked, but we watched the man shake his head in response, and somehow, we knew what that meant.
Liam was beginning to tremble even worse, but I wasn't trembling that bad anymore; I just felt excited to take a stand-off with Victor.
Yanking my hand off Liam's, I ran towards the door with Liam and the rest chasing after me.
I ran, feeling the air fill in my lungs. I got more energized anticipating my meeting the legendary Victor.
When I finally felt myself come to a standstill, I saw the trembling guards in front of a huge, muscly-looking man with tattoos struggling to peek out from the arms of his chair.
He had his fingers wrapped around the neck of a faint-looking guard while the other one lay by his feet, unmoving, cold, and pale.
'Put him down." I heard myself say.
He looked at me; his bloodshot eyes didn't scare me, and his burly figure didn't do that either; it was the fact I would be going against someone so similar to Liam that scared me. I felt like I was facing the older version of Liam.
'And who might you be?" His unsmiling face stared sternly at me.
'The girl you threw into chaos," I told me and he laughed like a man deprived of reality.
'My dear Moon." He called me, still holding onto the neck of the guard.
'You have no right to address her in that manner." My biological father threatened.
'Or what Rex? You'd beat me up? Ha! Don't even daydream about it."
His grip on the man in his hold loosened when I felt Liam's hand on my shoulder.
'Sweet, you don't have to do this." He whispered into my ears.
I have to. No, I have to.
'You fool of a son." He dropped the man like a sac of potatoes.
'You don't get to call my mate a fool when you are one," I told him to hear him give a deep chuckle.
'You allowed your sister to die." He accused walking towards us.
While everyone stepped back, I stood firm. Liam tried pulling me back but I stood my ground.
'She deserved to die." I rubbed the salt in and watched his nose flare.
'Moon, this isn't a very wise decision." Liam was solidly beside me.
Oh yes, it was. It's either him or I but I didn't say it out loud. I knew Liam would force me out upon my utterance.
'Liam." He called authoritatively.
'It's either you follow me home or you join her."
'You lie!" I saw red and charged on with a war cry.
'Moon!?" I heard the voices of several persons behind me, but I didn't care.
The last thing I saw was black, then I heard a thud, then my heavy breathing, it felt like an out-of-body experience.
What was this?
