He would have teleported, but he suddenly felt weak. Trying to get himself into his room again made him shake, and he dropped to his knees, still with Moon in his arms.
'Alpha!" One of the guards who had felt he wasted a lot of time inside and had come to check up on him called out, alerting the rest.
Moon's moans grew into whimpers of pain. Liam felt the pain too, but he didn't know if he felt a little of what she felt or worst, or if she was draining him of his energy.
'Moon?" He whispered still on his knees.
She shifted, but her eyes were tightly closed, and her tied-up hair was getting loose, making loose strands scatter all over her face.
'Can you hear me?" He felt his voice shake, he was trembling.
'Alpha, are you okay?" The guards gathered around them now, each with a look of concern on their faces.
Liam nodded, clenching his teeth tight. He needed to stand but doing even that was as difficult as going through the eye of a needle. He felt tremors go through his body but he didn't give up still.
'Go. Check-in." He managed to say, he was breathless.
Moon was barely breathing, but he couldn't let go of her for fear of the worst.
'Bring them." He tried making his voice audible enough for them to hear even with how shaky it was.
'Let's help you."
Liam raised his shaky head and reddened eyes and glared at the man in uniform who stood before him offering to carry Moon with him.
Groaning, he tried to stand to his feet, raising one leg first, he tried to push still till he stood on both feet. He staggered at first but found his footing later.
'Alpha, you are…"
In the eyes of the guards, he saw terror.
Looking down at Moon's face which was slowly becoming hairy and altered, he saw drops of red. He blinked slowly, trying to figure out why her face had drops of red on it when he felt something roll off his nose.
He began to see dots of black in his line of vision and soon, it felt like everyone and everything around him was beginning to disappear.
‘Let me the fuck out!' It was his wolf and Liam didn't dare to refuse. He could not bear to black out during such a critical moment so he let his wolf take charge.
Looking up with fiercer orbs, with a yell of renewed energy, he charged out of the building leaving most of the guards speechless.
'What was that just now?" One of them asked few of them shrugged, looking around to see what next they could do.
'That's why he is the Alpha."
Liam footsteps were heavy and brisk. He could not use any of his ability but the little strength he had to walk her into his room and he could not afford to waste standing around.
'Liam?" Serenity called, stopping him in his steps.
His fierce eyes looked at hers and he widened them in demand to know why he was stopped.
Knowing it wasn't Liam in control, she went straight to the point, her eyes occasionally drifting to the whimpering lady in his hands.
'Aunt Olivia, she…"
'What happened to her?" Liam cut her off immediately walking closer to her.
Serenity stepped back from Liam's oppressive aura, it was too much for her to bear. 'She has been aggressive, it's difficult to keep her calm." She managed to say without stuttering or shivering.
'Let me out!" A voice filled with pain and longing yelled in the background.
'Aunt Olivia…" That was Kia.
Liam closed his eyes; he could not bear to condone the pain in Aunt Olivia's voice, and neither could he bear to watch Moon go through this transformation on her own.
Torn between making his decisions, Liam began to feel himself weakened all over again; this time, Moon became restless; it took extra effort to keep her in place.
'What…what's up with her?" Serenity struggled to ask but Liam fell to his knees with a thud instead.
'Hey? Liam?" She called out of concern, crouching beside him, but he had his eyes tightly shut.
'Stay…away…" He managed to say, his eyes now half opened.
Serenity felt her heart crumble but not wanting to worsen the situation, she stood up and only observed, ready to jump in if anything happened.
'I remember, I remember!" The loud voice of Olivia in the background made him want to scream.
The thudding of feet came, and he managed to open his eyes to look in the direction of the sound to see a distressed Kia and a group of persons behind the maddening-looking Olivia, who had her hair in all directions and had lost her cool.
'Liam, I remember." She stopped before Liam staring down at the lady in his arms.
'Aunt Olivia?" Liam was tired this time, he had no strength left for anything else despite having the will.
'Liam, he did it." She snarled at the air before walking around with her hands, grabbing her head at intervals; Kia was right behind her, making sure to prevent any unwanted situation from happening.
Liam just managed to nod before sitting on his butt, Moon finally falling off his hands and rolling to the floor. She kept turning and stretching, tears leaving her eyes and her lips half parted, letting out a little cry of pain.
With his head bowed and his eyes almost closing, he still managed to keep an eye on Moon, the tip of his fingers still touching her skin, spreading little tingles through her to help her out with the pain of transforming.
'Aiden?" Serenity called; her voice filled with unbelief as she stared at the now-open gate with the guards bringing in two figures.
She made to step forward with a frown on her face, she felt funny seeing him in a pathetic situation but the next thing she saw stopped her in her steps.
Olivia, who was initially pacing and muttering to herself like she had gone mad with the rest of the pack members watching from a distance, turned rigid at once, staring into the distance.
'You?" She took a step forward, but Kia ran in front of her, ready to protect her from any incoming danger.
'Leave my way, Kia." She was still snarling, breathing hard as she took shaking steps forward.
'No," Kia responded but was not ready for what came next.
