'Kia?" Serenity, who could not bear to see Aiden being moved towards the direction of the dungeon, looked away in time to see Aunt Olivia's reaction.
'Rex?" Olivia called shakily, walking slowly towards the still wolf.
'Are you Rex?" She stopped a few steps away from him.
Liam who was almost lying flat on the floor next to Moon, looked in the wolf's direction and felt his weak heart quicken.
'Rex?" Olivia called again, her lids blinking quicker than she could control.
Transforming quickly, Rex stood naked without shame before the breathing image of his late Mate.
'Olivia?" He mouthed, his throat felt dry and painful.
'Rex? Is this really you?" Olivia's palm covered her mouth as she let out shaky breaths.
Rex walked closer, taking one step at a time before he was finally within her reach. With both of them reaching out at the same time, they touched their faces with their hands.
'You are alive!" Alpha Rex exclaimed; his lips were parted, and tears rolled down his cheeks, but he couldn't care less about himself.
'I am alive," Olivia replied as she burst out crying, her shoulders shaking.
Opening his arms wide, he embraced her, holding her closely to himself as if to merge her body into his.
'What happened? Where have you been all these years?" He asked loudly, his voice was packed with emotions.
'Or were you imprisoned?" He asked, his face morphing into a frown as he imagined it happen.
He pulled her away from him, his hands on her shoulder, studying the outline of her face before looking at the man on the floor.
'What? No, no. It isn't that." She blocked his line of vision with her face before dropping her shoulder.
'It's a long story, a very long story." She closed her eyes, her hand went to her tummy.
'My baby, I lost my baby." She told him, her lips stretching into something close to a smile, but Alpha Rex knew better than to believe her lips.
And just like he predicted, she squatted and started sobbing.
'My baby! I rejected her. I refused her!" She howled to the sky, tears dropping from her eyes.
'You gave birth to her?" Alpha Rex, who had lost all hope concerning his mate and child, stood speechless, looking at his tormented mate.
Olivia looked at him first, before looking away and sniffing. 'I did."
Serenity, who had helped Kia up, just watched on as the drama unfolded between Aunt Olivia and her long-lost Mate.
'Alpha Victor is in for a deep shit," Kia muttered.
'I know right?" Serenity responded leaving him on his own.
'If only the old man can get a damned cloth on himself!" She sucked her teeth, her eyes on Liam this time.
'A she?" Alpha Rex looked shaken.
It was as if the question brought back bad memories, because Olivia broke down completely, falling to the floor and wailing her eyes out.
'Victor…he did all…these." She said in between sobs.
'Victor?" Alpha Rex squatted, he looked extremely shocked and stupid.
A low howl drew the attention of everyone. A smaller version of the white wolf from earlier stood shakily beside the now squatting Liam.
'Mate," Liam called out; his hands on her fur as he buried his face in them.
As if in response, the wolf howled out again, trying to find balance and get used to the feeling of being a wolf.
'Who is that?" Alpha Rex asked his stunned mate, who had stopped the tears after seeing a white-furred wolf only associated with the royals of the Silverstone pack.
'Moon." She said beneath her breath.
'Moon?" Alpha Rex repeated, letting out a shaky breath; he almost found himself on the floor from the wave of dizziness that hit him.
Standing up swiftly, Olivia walked towards the wolf while Rex, who thought it better to be covered, transformed back into his wolf and walked behind his mate.
'Liam?" Olivia called first, getting Liam attention.
Seeing Alpha Rex up close, Liam tried his best not to let the guilt of the past eat him up.
'She. Is she…"
'She has parents." Serenity butted in, drawing all eyes to herself without intending to.
'Her supposed parents, but we still have our doubts." Kia stepped in.
'Get him something to put on and bring them out," Liam ordered and soon, they got down to work.
'Revert to your human form Sweet. Can you do that for me?" Liam said softly but Moon only whimpered.
Patting her wolf, Liam directed her on how to go about transforming back to her human form.
'Easy there."
'Yes, just like that."
'Picture yourself as a human."
'You are doing great."
The bone-cracking sound continued till Moon, who was finally in a kneeling position, dropped to the floor.
Using her coat, Serenity covered the naked Moon before looking away. She did not understand why she was being kind to the threat behind her feelings for Liam.
'What have you done to her!?" Joana's voice was heard in the background as she ran towards Liam who was hovering over the grimacing Moon.
Pouncing on Liam without taking notice of the now transformed Alpha Rex, she began to hit his back, staging her fake tears of how badly treated her daughter was.
Steve, who could have joined in the saga, stood still as his eyes met with the Alpha's narrowed eyes.
Serenity was quick in separating Joana from the stiff Liam's back. Liam only had his focus on Moon as he whispered to her till he was sure she was at rest as her tensed facial muscles eased back into relaxation.
Still struggling to jump out of Serenity's tight grip, Joana felt doused in cold water when her eyes met that of the shirtless Alpha Rex whose hand was on the middle-aged woman's shoulder.
'Al…Alpha?" Her voice was a tiny squeak, but Alpha Rex ignored her and turned towards Steve, who still had his eyes on him.
'Tell me the truth, Steve." Alpha Rex began creating a tightly tensed atmosphere.
'Is Moon yours?" He asked, holding his breath despite himself as he got ready to hear the answer.
