Chapter 91

Aiden's POV

'Congratulations?" I repeated her words.

She was silent for a while as if concentrating on something before looking back at me.

'Mmm, congratulations." She repeated.

'Moon." My voice cracked.

It hurt so much I could barely lift a finger. Her level of nonchalance was overwhelming. When did she change so much?

I belong to Diana now but I would need to do whatever it takes to get her safely out of here even though we would never be together again.

Holding her shoulders, she twisted her lips to show disgust, her eyes going from one of my hands to the other. That hurts too, but I guess I deserve it.

'I will need to get you out of here as soon as possible but you would need to listen to me if you want to be out of here that quick."

She gave me a quizzical look and I felt stupid.

'See, I didn't orchestrate any of this. It's Diana; she made me do this, but I can't watch you get killed all because of a family trauma, so please listen to me, Moon."

She just kept looking at me like her lips were not functioning or she didn't have working ears.

'I will untie you soon, but I need you to run to the Silverstone pack."

'You can't tell me where you run to for safety. I might as well stay here."

I have known frustration all my life but this here was another level of frustration.

'Listen to me, Moon!" I shook her hard and saw her grimace, making me put my hands off her.

'I am trying to save your ass here."

'Do you even know why Liam is labeled a terror to the Silverstone pack?" I barked at her.

If I needed to shout at her to get my point across then I would do it.

'Do you even know his father?" I stood up and kicked the nearest rubber I found close to me.

'Do you know his relationship with Diana?" I expelled air from my puffed-up cheeks before looking at her.

She only stared at me without as much as a change in her expression.

'What's up with you Moon?"

I sat down. It hurt so much that I couldn't understand her anymore; it felt like she grew stronger in my absence.

Putting off the lights, I settled down on the dirty floor without care of the world. Seeing her indifferent face continuously would get to me so it's better I look into the dark instead.

'When we were…"

'I'd rather you go straight to the point Aiden. Answer the questions you asked earlier, there might be no time." She interrupted me, her soft voice to me was still hard, going straight to pierce my heart.

'Do you know about Alpha Victor?" I asked her and she gave an almost silent hum in response.

'Do you know why Liam is seen as the…"

'I'd appreciate it if you stopped with all these questions. If I were to know them, I would have answered you a long time ago." She interrupted me again.

I was tempted to see her face again but I resisted. I don't think my heart would take it anymore.

'Liam is the secret son of Alpha Victor, the undercover Aloha who came to our pack as the Gamma," I said but it was as quiet as the night itself, so I continued.

'Liam suddenly came into the pack to poison the Alpha."

'He got caught and was sent away, his father cured the Alpha but took an oath with him."

I expected her to ask about the kind of oath, but she sat still; I had no other options.

'Alpha Rex took an oath not to ever hurt Alpha Victor or any of his direct descendants." I was exposed, expecting a reaction.

I got one, but it wasn't what I expected, she laughed instead, and I wondered what was so funny.

'He took an oath not to hurt any of his descendants yet you want me to go to the Silverstone Pack?" I could see her bending her head to the side in my mind's eye.

'Wouldn't Liam barge in and take me away?" I felt embarrassed.

'Liam isn't the only one after you Moon."

'Yeah, yeah. I know Diana is after my life too."

'Alpha Victor, too," I told her, but she yawned instead.

'Isn't that the same? Alpha' Victor, Diana, and Liam. They could easily get me if they want right under the nose of Alpha Rex and nothing would be done about it."

'Moon…"

'I'd rather be with Liam."

'Moon, you are not making the right decision."

'What about you? Are you?" She asked and I couldn't answer.

No, I could answer but I couldn't bring myself to answer.

Moon's POV

'You work with Alpha Victor too, so don't you think you should save yourself first?" I could see him in the dark though I sensed he couldn't see me.

'I am not in danger." He retorted, and I wish I could tell him that he was in the worst form of danger.

My heart was ripped to pieces, knowing Liam was the son of the infamous Alpha Victor and Diana was his sister.

Why did he lie to me? What was wrong with spilling the truth?

Thinking about all these got my blood boiling all over again and I began to feel the strange emotion within me grow.

I felt the urge to stretch my hands, and I did, only to feel the tight rope loosening. It bit into my flesh, but it loosened still; it made me breathless.

Something extraordinary is going on with me but I can't place a finger on it. There is one thing I know for sure and it's the fact that I shouldn't be panicky.

‘I am here now, Moon; I swear I will explain everything to you.' Liam's voice rang in my head; this time, it was louder.

‘Shut the fuck up!' I yelled in my head, but it felt different. It was my thought, but I knew I had passed my message across to him.

'You are in more danger than you can ever imagine Aiden," I told him, gasping for air. The strangeness I felt within me kept multiplying by the second.

My ears became extra-sensitive, my eyes adjusted to the dark just like it was day and I knew I could sense the presence of numerous persons.

Suddenly I heard a clap. Yeah, that's it. Our first visitor.
