Chapter 90

Moon's POV

I slowly woke up to the heavily dusty and musky smell; my eyelids were too heavy to lift, so I kept my eyes closed, only making use of my ears. Except for the little shift I heard close to me, there was nothing else to hear.

I tried to remember where I was and it didn't take too much as the memories came rushing in, then the covering of my nose. I felt a tingle in my brain and I realized I was tied to a chair. Not just my hands and legs but my whole body too.

I was too frightened to calm down, so I tried to force my eyes open. I didn't need to try because I felt something skim through my skin.

'Aah!" I let out lightly and shakily before my eyes snapped open; it was dark, and I could hardly see a thing.

As uncomfortable as it was for me, my eyes still didn't rest as they tried to pick up what could have run through my thigh.

'Moon? You are up?"

If it isn't my brain playing tricks on me; why do I hear Aiden's voice? I was in a daze for a while.

'Moon? Can you hear me?" His voice asked again, and I would have jumped to the ceiling if this godforsaken place had a ceiling and if the ropes around me weren't holding me down.

'Stop touching me."

What was that just now? My voice? Why does my voice sound so strange? My voice had never been this soft. What is going on?

'Calm down, Moon, it's me, Aiden."

I feel strange and I can't control it.

'Aiden?" I would have to get used to my new voice, I can't have my voice scaring the hell out of me when there are other things to be scared of.

'Yes, Moon, it's me."

'Why am I tied down?" My eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness to see the figure sitting right in front of me, looking intensely at me.

'You would need to escape to the Silverstone pack Moon." He tells me.

'What is going on? Why am I tied down!?" I feel an intense emotion; I know I am getting worked up again, and I would explode like a volcano if nothing is done about it.

'Calm down Moon, I am trying to save your ass here." He is squatting this time, his hand reaching out to touch me, but I spat at him.

'Don't touch me with that hand of yours after tying me down here without my permission and without an explanation!" I yelled at him, my eyes were wide and I was breathing hard.

‘Moon?' Liam's voice calls in my head.

'What in heaven's name!" I exclaimed, I was startled.

How was he able to do that?

‘Moon, can you hear me?' His voice rang in my head again, but remembering what happened before I ran off, I ignored him. I wasn't about to let myself forgive him easily or even give him the chance to believe he could do whatever he wanted and come back like nothing happened.

‘Moon, I know you are awake and you can hear me. Just give me a signal so we can locate you, huh?' His voice in my head sounded desperate and pleading.

So I am in danger huh? What does he care if I am in danger or not?

I feel Aiden's cold fingers on my face, and I snap my teeth at them; I would have caught them in between my teeth if he hadn't withdrawn them beforehand.

'Get your filthy fingers off my face." I snapped at him, and he withdrew; in the dark of this strange room, I still saw the shock and confusion in his eyes.

'Are you Moon?"

I only looked at him.

'You have changed." He commented.

'I am surprised myself," I replied and resolved to keep to myself if there was nothing positive coming from him.

I am tired of life. Wasn't it better if I rot away here than being thrown back and forth?

I felt a bug crawling on my exposed lap, and I badly wanted to slap it away, but I couldn't. Forget it; I can't be tired of life till I get this thing off me.

'I need to itch my lap, something is crawling on it." I deadpanned.

I watched him move his hand in the dark in search of something then he lit a lamp. He had had a lamp with him all this time!

He removed it for me before looking at me.

'What?"

What was he expecting? I vote of thanks. He can dream on.

'You?" He asked drawing closer to me.

I hate this shitty situation because no matter how I try to draw back, my back ends up hitting the chair but he keeps on advancing.

'Get away from me," I whined, he smelled weird.

'You have been marked!?" He looked right back into my eyes, putting the touch between us.

Oh, that? I almost forgot I had been marked but how could I? I feel my cheeks get hot, ooww I am beginning to blush.

I see the hurt in his shaky eyes as he examined my face.

'You have been taken too?" He concluded.

Obviously, duh. But I didn't respond, I only stared at him.

I watch him reach out to my neck and tear out the bandaid there.

'Ooow! What did you do that for!?"

He began to breathe fast as he came closer to inspect my neck. His breath fanned my neck, and I remembered Liam's breaths on that exact spot. All I got was disgust, feeling Aiden's breath on my neck.

'Stay away from me." I struggled in my seat with the ropes biting into my skin but I didn't mind.

'Chill, I am off." He sagged to the dirty floor.

‘Moon Baby, just respond okay? We can figure all these out later.' Liam's voice rang in my head again. I wanted to tell him to fuck off, but I didn't know how to do it, so I just let it be.

'I thought the least I could do was save you from this crazy family." His shoulders sagged like he was already carrying the weight of the whole world.

I looked at him, he was not making any sense.

'See." He stretched his neck to me, and I saw a rough mark on his neck; it was slowly morphing into a serpentine figure.

What was that? I didn't need to wonder more about it because he told me right away.

'I have been marked by Diana. We are mated; we share a soul bond, too." He announced.

'Congratulations," I told him blatantly because there was nothing else I knew I could say.

He looked up at me, his brows were drawn together in anguish. Looking at him squarely now, I could see how unkempt and unhappy he looked, but I mean, that should be the least of my worries, right? Because my increasingly sensitive ears picked up another movement far behind me.
