Victor walked out of Jennifer's room in quick strides, he had the shortening cigar at the corner of his lips.
Walking out, he saw Diana's small back. ‘the weak girl.' He thought, looking away from her to meet with Liam's narrowed eyes.
'Where have you been?" He asked, walking towards his arrogant son who refused to acknowledge his presence after the initial stare.
'Ask your mate." Liam folded his hand behind him.
The startled Diana found her way to Liam's legs after hearing her father's voice. Liam looked at the little frightened girl and had no other option than to protect her.
'I like your audacity." Victor leaned on the pillar, took out the short cigar stick from his mouth, and blew out an alarming amount of smoke.
'I want to leave."
'Go ahead." Victor chuckled.
'But make sure you are in your room the next time I visit. Or you won't like me."
'It's not like I like you already," Liam muttered under his breath and Victor gave a throaty laughter.
'Who are the new additions to the pack?" He asked.
Liam's heart skipped a beat. He wondered how Victor knew, but the arrogant look in his eyes irked him.
'My friends." Liam was bold enough to speak without stuttering.
'I will not accommodate any more street friends, take this as a gift from a father to son. They can walk freely now and stop hiding." He squashed the remnant of the cigar on the floor.
'I have another assignment for you; be prepared," Victor informed him and walked away.
The fifteen-year-old Liam stared hard at his father's back as he walked away till he evaporated into thin air.
'Liam?" Serenity ran towards him.
'Are you alright buddy?" Kia tapped his shoulder.
'Mmm," Liam nodded at them.
'Who's she? Your step-sister?" Kia asked, ready to squat to Diana's level.
'I don't know her." Liam's aloof answer made him straighten up immediately.
'Leave." He turned towards Diana who looked up at him and let her tears flow out all over again.
'Go meet your mum." Liam was frowning this time.
Diana looked at him for a while, the hurt was evident in her eyes as she stared at him before turning her back to him and walking away.
'We need to leave immediately," Liam announced to his friends who looked at him with a frown.
'We just came." Kia looked around, meeting the eyes of dangerous and disturbing-looking people.
'Why?" Serenity asked.
'Alpha Victor is planning on making me do another dirty assignment of his." Liam's eyes were focused on the closed door of the Alpha's quarters.
The memories of his previous actions still haunted him. What if he had killed him? What if people still see him as such? If there was something he desperately didn't want to do, that was to do his stupid father's dirty deeds!
'So?" Kia asked.
'We need to train, I need to become stronger. I have a plan." Liam walked ahead, making the duo follow him in confusion.
'You want to leave?" Olivia asked him calmly and he nodded.
'Why?" Her serene eyes stared at his.
Her eyes widened as he finished his narration. 'What?" She had her hands on her lips at his story, Kia and Serenity were not excluded too.
'What's your plan?" She could only ask, wanting to assist in every way possible.
'I have a confession to make." He bowed his head, playing nervously with his fingers.
'I have an ability too."
She nodded calmly, but Serenity and Kia were not that cool. They were already all up in his face, wanting to know the type of ability he had, but he pushed them away and went straight to the plan.
'And the plan?" Aunt Olivia asked again.
'I'd take us to the Blood Moon pack, challenge the acting Alpha to a duel for the title of the Alpha, and defeat him." Liam eyes were focused, and his hands displayed his actions but the others were not as cool with it.
Olivia kept blinking, she blinked at a fast speed that Liam thought her act of blinking would help reboot her lagging brain.
'Aunt Olivia?" He called, waving a hand at her face.
'The Blood Moon pack?" She asked to be sure.
Olivia expected something like, ‘Let's run away and hide in a faraway city or something simpler, not taking over a whole pack! The one under Alpha Victor's control at that.'
'Yes." Liam nodded.
'That's Alpha Victor's pack too." She reminded and Liam nodded.
'Brother!" Kia exclaimed.
'That's suicide." He added.
'Not if I train enough," Liam replied.
'But being the Alpha is a big deal man. You aren't even 20 yet." Kia commented.
'My age wouldn't matter if I defeated the current Alpha," Liam commented.
'Would your father support this?" Aunt Olivia asked.
'He won't have a say once I succeed in defeating the acting Alpha," Liam told her; his eyes were not seeing any of them; they were only picturing the big moment.
'I support you, Liam." Serenity's serious mood affected Kia's doubt, and Olivia decided it was best to listen to them and dish out advice when possible.
'We start by training." Liam serious face made Serenity daydream; she couldn't wait for the day she would get to be together with him.
'Kia and I." He completed and Kia nodded.
'When do we expect the Alpha back, Aunt Olivia?" Liam asked and she pursed her lips to the side to think.
'In a month." She told him.
