'What's wrong?" Moon asked, squinting at the headache she felt.

'Go back to sleep Moon." Liam had bids of sweat dripping from his face as she concentrated hard with his hand on the middle-aged woman's forehead.

'I am…No…what's wrong?" Moon made to leave the bed.

'Just do as you are told!" Kia glared at her, the irritation on his face obvious.

Her eyes widened at him, she looked from the hateful stare in his gaze to the stiff back of Liam.

There was a rumbling in Liam's chest; his red-rimmed eyes were on Kia, till Kia noticed his mistake.

'How dare you use that tone on her!" He growled.

Moon saw his shoulders move, Kia's face twisted to a painful grimace and he bowed, his forehead thudding against the floor.

'Liam!" She called him, trying to move from the bed.

'Stay where you are." Came his order, he didn't turn to look at her face but she felt the compulsion to obey. He was using his Alpha aura on her.

'I am…okay. For real." She sat back, her eyes teary, looking at his tensed back.

Kia groaned in pain but Liam stood up with the now-sleeping Madam Olivia in his hands. Standing over his Beta, he looked down.

'Stand."

Kia's head left the floor but there was a drip of blood on his nostrils. Not being able to stop herself, Moon left the bed with much difficulty, ran towards Kia without thinking, and used the sleeve of her shirt to clean his nose.

'Oh, you are bleeding." She searched his face worriedly, forgetting how dirty her shirt was.

Kia's eyes were wide and unblinking as he stared at the worried girl who didn't stop to think about the implications of her action.

His eyes traveled to Liam's dark gaze, and he unknowingly swallowed the fast-rising nervousness in his gut. Standing up as soon as he could, he held her hand.

'You are bleeding." She affirmed what he already felt.

'Leave." His voice was pleading this time, the concern in her eyes weakened him.

'Moon!"

She jumped, looked back at the frosty face of Liam, and swallowed.

'He was…"

'I said to stay back in bed!" Liam gritted his teeth.

She looked at him in wonderment, her hands holding each other in comfort, tears were barely holding their place in her eyes.

'He was bleeding!" She told him, a little frown on her face as she sniffed.

Closed his eyes for a second, Liam nodded at Kia who strutted towards him, cleaning the drip of blood from his nose.

'Make sure she is fine." He handed over the middle-aged woman to him.

'Send in someone else."

'Yes, Alpha," Kia replied, stretching his hands to take the sleeping woman.

Taking three steps; he looked back at Moon's face before looking back at Madam Olivia's face; he frowned a bit, shook his head subtly, and left, not daring to look back anymore.

'You know you aren't okay." Liam started, his hand rubbing his forehead as he sighed.

'That doesn't mean you have to treat me like I have no mind of my own." Moon refuted, her nails scraping her left palm.

Seeing her nervousness, he came closer and engulfed her hands with his.

'I'm Sorry Moon, I was just…" He breathed.

'I was just worried; I needed you to stay put." He hugged her to himself, holding her head to his chest.

'How do you feel?" His chin was on her hair.

She just nodded her reply before disengaging herself from him. Liam looked helplessly at her, his eyes following her till she sat on the edge of his bed.

'This is your room?" She asked even though she already knew it was.

'Yeah." He responded, still looking carefully at her.

'Nice."

'Thanks."

'I need to take a bath." She looked down at her dirt-stained feet, suddenly self-aware.

'Moon?" He came towards her, squatting before her.

'Hmmm?"

'I'm sorry, I didn't mean to use that tone on you. I was just…"

'Worried? I know. I am not angry anymore. I just need to take a bath." She pouted.

'Plus, I need time to adjust to this new environment and be sure my Alpha isn't coming for my head." She sighed.

'He won't." Liam restrained himself from saying more, the picture of her scars still in his head.

He would make sure they don't lay a hand on her.

'I need to bath Liam." She smiled.

He looked at her smile and smiled back in return even though he knew she wasn't smiling with her whole heart. Her eyes danced in nervousness, he could see the pulse on her neck quicken.

He wanted to tell her to relax but he could only point towards the direction of his bathroom.

Not waiting for him to talk, she stood on her feet and walked briskly towards the bathroom, closing the door behind her. Liam sighed again when he heard the rushing of water.

There was a knock on his door.

'Come in." He stood ready to talk to whoever it was.

Another middle-aged woman came in slowly, her eyes roaming around the four walls of his room.

'Yes?"

'Beta Kai sent me." She had her back bent a little in respect.

'Oh!" He accessed her and concluded he didn't like her roaming eyes.

'Drop the basket and leave." He had a polite smile on his face.

'But she needs to be taken care of, I heard she is extremely weak." Her eyes went to the bed, then her brows furrowed when she saw the bed was empty.

'I don't see her anywhere Alpha Liam."

Looking up to the ceiling, Liam asked for patience from the Moon goddess.

'I said. Drop the basket and leave." He spoke from his teeth, his palms were tightened.

'Oh!" She continued when she heard a splash.

'All right, Alpha, I will take my leave now." She had an irritating smile. Liam wanted to wipe off her face but couldn't because she was a woman and elderly at that.

Moon who let the water run over her head for a while in the bathroom without doing anything, stared back at herself in the mirror.

When she stepped into the bathroom, she made sure to wash her clothes first before rubbing the dirt off her miraculously healed body.

Turning on the shower, she was stunned when she saw the reflection of herself in the mirror.

The ugly scars on her body brought tears to her eyes and she had to bite her hand to restrain herself from crying out loud.

‘Why did he have to put a mirror in his bathroom?' She looked back at herself.

Taking her left hand towards her right breast, she felt the huge scar beneath it, and it brought shivers to her spine remembering what happened.

She didn't know how long she stayed in there for but the violent shaking of the door knob brought her back to the present.

'Get the fuck out of my room!"

'I won't!"

That was Liam's voice but who was the angered lady with him?

'Don't make me use brute force!"

'I underestimated you Alpha."
