Chapter 51

Liam looked at her for a few minutes, holding Moon in his hand. His head had gone off in a loud alarm at her words but he considered the state of his mate.

Deciding she wasn't worth his time, he turned away, taking a few steps, when something hit his back, earning a groan from him.

'Where do you think you are taking her to?" She demanded coming to stand in front of him.

'None of your business." He spat, Moon tried to adjust in his arms and he looked at her softly.

Diana noticed his soft spot for her and got angered wondering why Moon always had to get the things she wanted easily.

'Do you think you can escape?"

'Try me. Now, out of my way."

'You can't command me, son of a whore."

Liam considered keeping Moon down gently and grabbing Diana's neck in a tight strangle till she showed the white of her eyes but he shook the thought out of his head.

Thinking of a better thing to do, he made himself invisible with Moon in his hands and saw her eyes widen in shock. She stumbled on nothing and almost fell.

Walking past her, he stopped by her ears before saying. 'Focus on getting the love of your father and stop joining him to obsess over me."

She threw her hand in the air, hoping to punch him, but he shifted from her, feeling satisfied at her frustration.

'Liam?" Moon mumbled in her sleep and Liam walked briskly back home.

Diana whose head got hot and was boiling in anger, bared her teeth at the air.

'That son of a bitch!" She yelled into the air, both hands swaying violently in the air.

Her face was red in anger and the pain from the open wound in her hand shot to her head.

She sat down to focus on healing her hand just like she saw Liam heal Moon. Zeroing her eyes severely on her hand, she focused all her strength and brain cells on emitting energy to be transferred to her hand.

Not wanting to give up, she tried to use her imagination like she had heard her siblings say some time back, but her wolf whimpered, and she only ended up with a nosebleed and a ringing head.

'Fuck you, Liam!" She said, breathing heavily.

Looking up and staggering towards the gate, she stopped at the sight of Aiden standing by the gate. He had been watching her all along.

She smiled in a bid to conceal her anger and shame to know he watched her lose a fight against her long-lost half-brother.

'You have been there all along?" She asked, heaving as the pain in her arms got worse; it made her dizzy and her sight blurry.

She could never withstand pain, one of the reasons her father thought it wise to send her off instead of her other siblings.

'Of what use are you!? Of what use are you!" She managed to raise her voice, glaring at him for just standing by and watching her be treated like trash.

She staggered, coming towards him, but he made no move to hold her in place; he just kept staring at her like she was a strange thing dumped at the gate to be inspected.

'You need me to force you into helping before you help. Is that it?" She question smiling without it reaching her eyes.

'Because I am not her? Because I am not that weak idiot!?" She yelled, this time not caring to know if she could be heard by others inside the gate.

'What did you mean by that?" Aiden asked without a second thought.

'What do I mean by what!?"

'You and Liam."

'Take me in first." She was almost pleading, the earth was swinging in full force around her.

'You haven't answered my question." He looked away from her pitiful eyes and her hand which would not stop bleeding.

'Is this what it is?" Diana asked. She smiled weakly, biting back the tears that had begun to pool in her eyes.

'You need me to use my ability on you before you do what is needed?"

Aiden who knew she was too weak to use her ability, snorted, forcing more stones into Diana's heart.

She made her decision there and then, she would stop taking it easy on him.

Bent over and falling to her knees, Diana huffed.

'You are a fool." She started but Aiden ignored her.

'You keep going after her when the one meant for you is right in front of you." She said slowly.

'Spare yourself the time and energy and just tell me what you mean by what you said earlier."

'You are only here because she tried sneaking out, right?" She questioned, looking up at him.

This time, she squatted and it looked just like she was begging him. She didn't mind though, she just wanted to get him to see her.

He looked at her, before looking away fighting the emotions to emerge.

'You heard right, I am the last daughter of Alpha Liam." She looked like she would be dead in the next minute.

Aiden felt a basin of cold water pour over him, freezing his brain at the thought of Diana being the feared Alpha Victor's daughter.

His hands dropped to his side, and he just stared at her; his legs felt jelly-like; it felt like he would find himself on the floor anytime soon. He held on to the wall for support, looking at her like he could not believe what he just heard.

She opened her mouth like she wanted to say something else but paused. He dreaded the next thing she would say, his mind playing back to his parents saying he would be mated to one of the daughters of Alpha Victor to strengthen the bond between both families and achieve the long-time goal set by them.

He looked at Diana, remembering her ploys and efforts to be noticed by him the first time she came into the pack with her parents.

'You know what else you can't avoid?" She smiled slyly; this time, she couldn't stop her body from falling into a sitting position.

'Your fate."

'I am your fated partner and there is no avoiding it."

He looked at her in horror, shaking his head at her words as if doing that alone would help refute her claims.

'Take… me… in." Her body was already weakened enough that she could not withstand it.

Her eyes were coming to a close and he was going paranoid. He thought about her death, his freedom, the blame, and Moon belonging to another man, and he made his decision.

Abandoning her there, he ran off in the direction he thought the strangely invisible Liam went.
