Chapter 50

Looking towards the sound of the clap, Moon jerked at the sight of the smug-looking and mildly surprised Diana.

Seeing Moon's reaction, Liam held her close to him burying her face in his broad cheat, his hand firmly wrapped around her waist and the other patting her back slowly to calm the little tremors he felt going through her.

He glared hard at Diana's relaxed expression, his jaws working again at the image of her standing proud and mighty over Moon's deflated self.

'That was a nice show, Moon." Diana nodded at her words, coming closer to have a look at Moon's face.

'Back off." Liam hissed, turning his body the other way to protect Moon's extremely trembling figure.

'Cool!" Diana stepped backward, her eyes not leaving Liam's for a bit.

Reaching the gate, she stretched her hand inside and brought out a glass of unfinished transparent liquid before coming back to her previous position. Liam watched her carefully, cautious to prevent any harm coming Moon's way. She had a crazed look in her eyes.

Drowning the content of the glass in one go, Diana made a loud sound at the back of her throat before hurling the glass, aiming at Moon's leg.

Seeing her intentions a few seconds before it happened, Liam activated his speed and shifted away from his position, along with Moon, earning a shriek from her and a loud shattering of the glass.

He soothed Moon's back, calming her down, her heartbeat thudding against his.

Smirking like the devil, Diana lowered her face, looking at his from her eyelids.

'I see you retained your powers. So much for not wanting to have anything to do with us." She sneered clapping the imaginary dust off her hands.

Liam just stared still without uttering a word, trying to understand her motive and the meaning behind her words.

'Last time, I met you as the mysterious man dating Moon." She gave a little laugh at her words, cleaning a drop of tears.

'You looked angry then, even now but never mind."

'This time, I am meeting you as an Alpha of the BloodMoon pack. Oh! How I have always longed to see your face." She cooed.

Liam looked at her in irritation, wanting to get out of there but planning on the best way to go about it; he didn't want to be involved in physical combat with a woman.

'Not only as the feared Alpha of a powerful group but as the only son of my father." She twisted her face into an ugly frown at the mention of ‘father'.

Liam's expression mirrored hers, looking at her in every way he could see her laugh it out, but when she didn't, his grip on Moon tightened.

'… hurts." Moon, who had been complaining about how hurt she felt, finally found a way to twist her lips, and the word ‘hurt' finally got to his consciousness.

He released her a little but still kept her pressed to him, looking intensely at Diana who didn't blink either.

'What do you mean by your father?" He growled, his voice rumbling in his chest.

She pushed her red-painted lips to the side, shrugging her shoulders with her hands in the air. 'Don't pretend you don't know who our father is."

'I have no father." He hissed, this time, his hands moved to cover Moon's ears making sure she didn't hear anything else about the conversation.

'I figured, so yeah, my father." She gave her twisted smile.

'To imagine I considered stealing you for myself to spite her…huh… sick." She eyed him, her brows wiggled.

'But we can still make it work, though; it isn't like we aren't twisted already." She made to move to him.

'Stay where you are." Liam was horrified at her audacity to spew such an abominable thing.

'Are you really the daughter of Victor?" He asked, hoping she said no.

'Alpha Victor, add some respect to his name dear Alpha Liam." She sniggered, moving to sit on the elevated stone on the floor before crossing her legs, putting her right hand beneath her jaw, and looking straight at him.

'Are you?" Liam repeated his question, his eyes were desperately searching hers.

'Do you hope for a no?" She smiled widely and it looked harmless till she kept her lips straight.

'Sorry, but yes. I am the daughter of Victor and the next Luna of the rogue pack so back off!" She hissed at him.

Liam placed his head on Moon's dirty bonnet, he was sorry. He was sorry he failed to see through her hidden pains and protect her from the daughter of the devil. He still had his hands pressed against her ears.

'I won't be as foolish as you fighting for the position of a leader in the rogue pack of Victor."

'Haa! You are already so foolish falling in love with her."

'Hands off her."

'You wish."

'Moon, are you all right?" He came to a squatting position, holding the barely breathing Moon in his hand with his leg supporting her back.

She had felt faint just after Diana's words. Looking at her, she had her eyes opened but they looked lifeless. He began to panic till he figured something was wrong with her; her lips were parted like she was half panting, half trying to say something. He knew this look.

Looking at Diana, who looked back at him with a raised of her brows, he smirked, picked up a stone, and flicked it at an extraordinary speed towards her direction.

'What the hell!" She yelled jumping out but not fast enough to avoid being hit and tearing the flesh of her hand, drawing a little blood.

'Stop it." He ordered, and Moon coughed, squeezing her eyes shut, allowing a tear to escape before bringing her hands to her head.

She felt a headache, a severe one.

'How dare you…"

'How dare you try to manipulate my mate!"

'What!?" It was Diana's turn to be shocked.

'I can forgive you of any other thing but not this." Liam went on to say, putting his hand on Moon's forehead luring her to sleep and healing her body at the same time.

He got distracted when Diana started laughing, coughing along the way before doubling over to continue her laughter.

'You aren't kidding right?"

Liam looked up at her, before carrying Moon in a bridal style, her head turned towards his chest.

'You are truly cursed, Liam, just like your Moth…"

Another stone was flicked in her direction, sticking right into the open injury from earlier.

'You are not worthy to call her." Liam had stood up with Moon in his arms, staring down at Diana, who stared back at him.

Diana hissed in pain, her eyes were red already. She clenched her teeth, stuck her finger into her injury, and extracted the stone.

'She was a whore!"
