Chapter 13

Diana's POV

I watch him run in, I am blinded by rage if there is anything like that. There are two things I know for sure and that is exacting my revenge and claiming him back as mine.

Not wanting to go in because I will yield to the temptation of stalking him again, I turn towards the gate as a better idea hits me.

What if I go in search of the other guy and do something reckless to his heart? I smirk as this idea settles into my heart, the satisfaction from imagining it is fulfilling.

Knowing he would be waiting for her till this time if he is the faithful type warms my blood.

Walking towards the gate, my eyes dart around for any prying eyes, and with a little effort, I push the gate open, but I do so slowly to avoid the loud squeak that would attract attention in the quiet night.

Stepping out and looking straight ahead of me, I was startled when I saw a man sitting across the street staring at me as if he had been waiting for the gate to be opened for eternity.

I begin to think but it doesn't take me so long to figure out that he is the guy Moon is interested in. I smile, but deep inside me, I am already doing my victory dance. I didn't get to see his face the last time I saw them together, but as I approached him, I second-guessed my crush on Aiden.

His is specially made by the moon goddess with those enigmatic and enchanting-looking eyes; I could get lost in time looking into those eyes.

He isn't even smiling, his sitting position while smoking is so hot! I could have started fanning my face to reduce the hotness I felt; I feel my face would be as red as a tomato by now.

For the first time, I didn't know how to start a conversation so I just began by thrusting my hand out for a shake.

'Hello," I said and squeezed up my face.

I was mentally wincing at the flat and weird way of starting; it was on impulse, and my eyes lingered on his perfectly shaped nose before returning to his eyes. He looked at me like he was trying to figure out what species I belonged to.

It takes a few minutes but it is a little longer for me because the awkwardness begins to set in. After scanning me with his intense eyes, I see disappointment flash across his face; he leans back to the bark of the tree, closes his eyes, and continues his smoke, which is bound to finish any moment from now.

'I am Diana," I said, but I figured it was unnecessary as his reaction paid no mind to who the fuck I was.

'I know you are waiting for Moon," I said again, and that prompted him to open one eye with the other still closed, presumably to sneak a peak to see how serious I was.

I put on the most serious face I have ever had to put on in a while and sat down with him uninvited, his eyes following movements till he was forced to open both eyes.

'Moon. Forget her."

I feel him still at that, looking at him, I see his jaw tick and the extent of his rigidity high that I would have classified him as a statue if I didn't know better.

Looking at his side profile I can't shake off the familiar feeling I started having. Within a few minutes, my brain worked faster than it had ever done before in trying to string in hidden memories of where I might have seen him, but none seemed to work out. It leaves me feeling slightly uncomfortable.

'Why?" He spat unblinkingly.

'It's a long story but believe my words. Leave her be, she isn't meant for you." He scoffs first before turning to look fully at me.

'Who are you?"

'Why should I believe you?" He asked before I began an official introduction.

'There was a guy she just kissed…" I decided to say instead of introducing myself, and the abruptness of his action left my words hanging in the air.

'You are hurting me." I winced, and his tight hand around my hand loosened a bit.

He wasn't really hurting me per se, I just figured playing around like more coquettish girls would do.

'Who is he?"

'He is…"

'Where is she right now?" I frowned at his impatience.

'She is in his…"

'What happened? Is he harassing her?"

What!?

'See, I think you should be calm and allow me to tell you what you need to hear."

'Did you see them kiss?" I asked him; his reaction was over the borders for someone who had just heard about a love interest of his kissing someone else.

He nodded, too subtle to be seen, but I saw it, and holding the opportunity to ruin the idiot Moon, I spun a complex web of lies.

It starts with Moon's lies about her strength to avoid being involved in strength-draining activities. Her weird infatuation for Aiden even when she had other guys wrapped around her delicate fingers. Aiden's rejection due to her stalking him and a couple of other things might be unnecessary, but I had to make this lie as believable as I could.

'Scram." I hear him say.

'What?" I ask, wanting to be sure it is for me.

'Scram!" He said again, this time with more force and I found myself jumping to my feet.

What was that? There is a certain pressure I feel from his command and I am compelled to obey. The only time I ever got this feeling was when talking to the Alpha.

Studying him again, he really did look like one.

'Are you an…" I needed to confirm my doubts.

'Get lost!" Is the only thing I hear and I find my feet walking away from him but not without looking back a few times.

I am a little disappointed that I couldn't get to talk a little longer with him but that didn't stop the satisfaction I feel about planting a seed of doubt in him.

Walking with excitement on the steps, I pause at his floor. Walking towards his door, I knock on it severally to receive no response. Maximizing my special hearing ability, I leaned my ears on the door and heard no movement.

I feel pangs of pain in my heart as the realization dawns on me. He isn't here, he is there. Rushing back to the stairs, I feel the strong urge to barge into her damn room but restrain myself, and it takes a lot of restraint before I can pass up into my room.

Opening my door with a force that I reckon could pull it off the hinges, I get scared out of my wits seeing who is lying on my bed.

'Are you out of your damned mind!?" I yelled startled.

'You scared me," I say placing my hand on my chest.

'Yo! Relax."
