Sophie pouted, showing no sign of remorse, but went along with it, glancing at Lucas
“Lucas,I didn’t mean it…She didn’t clarify.I’m innocent.Don’t be mad.I love you.”
She tried to use her usual tactics to charm him.

Not this time.
When Lucas learned of my ordeal, his face hardened.
He grabbed her throat, veins bulging with rage.
“You think‘sorry’fixes this?You destroyed a surgeon’s hands!”
“You ruined her—your whole family will pay!”
Sophie, gasping, clawed at him until he threw her down.

Her mom,flustered,caught her.
“Don’t be unreasonable!Name a price—we’ll pay.Their love matters.Don’t let this ruin things.Once Sophie marries in,we’re family.Forgive her—she’s young.”
Bandaged, only my eyes visible,I sneered inwardly.
Marry into our family? As long as I’m around, that’s not happening.

But first,I’d reclaim what’s mine.
“Settle this privately? Fine,’ I said. ‘Your daughter smashed my watch, tore up my condo deed, and stole my necklace. The total comes to $30 million. How would you like to pay, in cash or by card?”
Sophie stared at me in disbelief. “You’re robbing us! Those things can’t possibly be that expensive! You’re not even a Quinn!”
Lucas scoffed at her ignorance.“Heard of Horizon Biotech?”
“That’s Mom’s company.Sis just didn’t want the inheritance.”
“You thought she was broke?”
Horizon Biotech—top three in the U.S.,a corporate giant.
Sophie hadn’t factored in my wealth.
Her mom, panicked about losing the marriage, slapped her.“I told you not to cross people! Now apologize!”
Sophie, stunned, snapped,“Why should I?Money doesn’t make them gods!I did nothing wrong!”
She still saw no fault.
