And... strangely familiar.

I grabbed the dog-eared magazine from my nightstand and flipped through it.

Bingo—there was an identical bracelet splashed across the glossy pages.

The crystals caught what little light there was, winking at me in the darkness.

At its center sat a delicate red four-leaf clover.

But deep down, I knew this couldn't possibly be the real deal.

I looked up at James, eyebrow raised.

"Where exactly did you get this bracelet?"

He glanced down, then tucked my chilly hand under the warm covers.

My palm gradually thawed against his skin.

"Nothing fancy. Just a hundred bucks or so from a street vendor."

"Oh..."

I nodded and clicked off the bedside lamp.

In the soft glow of streetlight seeping through our blinds, I couldn't help but stretch my arm out to admire it.

The bracelet caught the light perfectly.

The lucky charm and those twinkling little stones.

The longer I stared, the more I fell in love with it.

It had looked stunning in the magazine.

But in person? It was breathtaking. I was completely smitten!

My mood skyrocketed, and I planted a lingering kiss on James's cheek.

His eyes fluttered open.

"Well, I'm wide awake now. How about we do something more... interesting?"

Needless to say, sleep wasn't a priority that night.
