Chapter 101

Serenity walked absentmindedly down the stairs to the underground dungeons. She didn't know what she was doing; she didn't know why she was walking down here. Maybe she knew, she just could not stop herself.

'Hey, whatcha doing going down in there?" A prison guard held her hand to stop her from advancing.

'Let go of me, I need to get something confirmed." Her voice was cold, she did not bother looking back either.

'Haven't you considered my proposal yet?" He asked, still holding onto her arm.

'I won't repeat myself." She just added, her eyes looking through the metal bars of the closed dungeon.

'See Babes. I like you and would do whatever it is you want, just…"

Serenity made a swift turn, hooked her hand under his armpit, locked her legs with his, and within a couple of seconds, he was thrown to the hard floor.

'Ooowwfff! What the hell man!" The prison guard was almost in tears as he tried to roll off the floor to get to his feet.

'Learn to stay off when told." Serenity warned, glaring down at him.

'You don't have to be too rigid in the love thing, girl; no one will love you at this point." He groaned, trying to sit up and rubbing his sore joints.

Squatting to him, Serenity eyed him before grabbing his face. She didn't know why she felt this annoyed. She felt like hitting him some more but his grimacing face put her off.

Standing and dusting off her hands, Serenity walked towards the closed barred door. She tried pushing it open, but it didn't budge.

Walking back to the still-groaning man, she squatted again and stretched out her hand.

'What?" He drew further back to the wall, trying to avoid her hand like it was a plague.

She made the ‘come here' sign.

'Get your damned hand out of my face!" He scooted to the other side.

'Give me the fucking keys!" Serenity demanded, folding her palm at intervals in demand of keys

'No." He held his stomach, shifting away slowly till he was out of her reach.

Serenity just stayed in her position, smirking and using her thumb to wipe the corner of her lip.

'No?" She repeated his words in the question this time.

'Yes. No. I won't." He stood up and made to walk away, but Serenity was behind him in seconds, grabbing the back of his shirt and pulling him back to the position he just left.

This time, he was in a standing position while she pushed his face against the wall.

'Let me go! Goddamnit!" He struggled to say, his lips found it difficult to mouth words.

Putting her hand through his back pocket, Serenity searched for the key. She had considered punching him till he willingly gave up the keys to her, but she knew with this state of mind, she would just end up beating him to death.

'Leave my pockets alone! You are a woman for crying out loud!" He wailed.

'Where are the keys?" She asked again, her hand went to his side pocket before she felt a cold metal against her palm.

Touching it to confirm, the keys jingled and with a strong grip, she grabbed it off his trouser before pushing him to the floor with her legs.

'Just let me go!" He yelled at her, his voice reverberating in the empty pathway as she placed her foot on his back.

'Right, off you go." Serenity walked towards the door, ignoring his groans to stand up from the floor.

'If the right keys aren't here, I would hunt you down." She threatened.

'I would report you to the Alpha."

'Try your luck." She sounded derisive.

He didn't bother bantering words with her and just ran off, limping up the stairs.

Pushing the biggest-sized key into the keyhole of the main bar, Serenity unlocked the bar, pushing it open but not without gritting.

Stepping fully into the dark hallway full of different rooms still barred by rusty metals, Serenity's nose crinkled at the stench that hit her nose.

She gagged and forced herself not to puke. It was bad. Where was he? She questioned herself as she held her breath once in a while till she adjusted to inhaling the nasty smell of the dungeon.

Putting on her flashlight, Serenity walked through the hallway, pointing her flashlight at every door she came across.

'Aarrghh! Fuck off!" A dull painful voice groaned when she pointed the light into his prison room.

'I am not the one you are looking for, so just move forward." A lady in the opposite room spoke up on time. She didn't want to go through the torture of having the light pointed directly at her eyes since her hands were tied.

Walking further into the hallway after receiving lots of curses, groans of pain, and hard stares. Serenity's hand flew to her nose to stop the rotten smell from penetrating further.

‘What was that?' She looked towards the direction of the room and saw a body lying limp and swollen and the thick-dirtied floor.

She felt her heart skip several beats, tears threatened to leave her eyes. The corpse looked so much like Aiden, she had to walk a little closer to it not minding the stench this time as she stared closely at it.

Her heart twisted in a suffocating pain; she struggled to breathe, breathing in even the bad stench of the prison in the fight not to pass out when a cough behind her unnerved her.

Pointing her flashlight swiftly behind her, she saw a hand raised to shield his face.

'Aiden?" She called out.

The last time she felt panicky was when she lost her only support, her dad.

She walked towards the stained bar, grabbed it with her free hand, and tried to push her head through it.

'Aiden?" She called again, keeping the light low.

He raised his eyes to look at her, she had to control herself to stop the gasp that almost left her lips. He looked emotionless and soulless, his eyes were empty as they stared back at her.

'It's me, Serenity." She introduced, remembering their one-night stand.

She thought he wouldn't answer and was ready to offer further explanation when he slowly nodded.

'Wait, I'd get you out of here." She got eager to release him, not taking the reaction of the Alpha, Lima, into consideration.

She felt weird and uncomfortable, but she still tried placing her hand on the emotion.

'No." His gruff voice stopped her.

'What?" She questioned.

'Take her." His shaky hand pointed towards the big lump of something on the ground.

‘Her?' It set off a time bomb in her head. She wanted to free him out of the dungeon, but all he could think about was a ‘her'!?

Diana's flashlight pointed toward the ground and she stiffened at the sight before her. It was Diana, the daughter of Alpha Victor, but she wasn't breathing. It felt like she was…

Sienna looked up at the watching and empty eyes of Aiden.

'Is she dead?" She looked back at Diana but Aiden merely shrugged and started chewing on his fingers.

'Oh, no! I need to get the guards back in here to deal with this their selves. I am not a prison guard, so I can't do this."

‘Why am I panicking?' She asked herself when the most weirdly sweet feeling washed over her.

Looking back into the prison room with Aiden staring back at her with the same intensity. Her lips parted, and her nose overflowed with his scent.

'Mate?"
