'Shoo away from here you motherless murderer." Jennifer shooed the young-looking Liam.

'Mummy?"

'Hush baby, you are not supposed to get yourself entangled with him." She told Dianna who just looked up at her with almost visible question marks on her head.

'But he is…"

'Time for bed." Jennifer dragged Diana into the hallway leaving Liam hungry and hurt.

Liam looked at the direction his stepmother disappeared into and wished he could drive a knife through her heart.

'Are you hungry?" Another voice asked, holding a large chunk of meat.

Liam looked in her direction and pounced on the meat in her hand before he could think of saying he wasn't hungry. He didn't stop a bit to second guess until all that was left of his hands were oily fingers.

He looked up at her kind eyes, she didn't laugh at him. She didn't pat his head which would have angered him if she did. She just gave a reassuring smile before walking away.

Liam thought she looked familiar but could not place a finger on the place he knew her from. Going out, he sat down by the door waiting for Victor when he fell asleep.

A tap woke him up. 'Come with me." The voice from earlier told him.

He sat still, looking at her receding figure with sleepy eyes till she disappeared into the dark corner and he placed his head back on his raised knees. Sleep was far from him but he didn't want to face the mocking look from Victor's pack members.

He had his eyes on the dark floor when he felt a presence by his side. He was ready to give the person a piece of his mind when he looked up to see the lady sitting down close to him before going ahead to copy his position.

He said nothing, waiting for her to talk first but she said nothing either, neither did she look his way.

'Hey?" He found himself reaching out to her after a few moments of silence.

'Who are you?" He asked, placing the side of his head on his knees to have a good look at her side profile.

She didn't respond to him, only keeping her head down as she looked at the floor.

'Do you want to sleep here? I have space inside for you.". She told him meekly.

'I have to wait for Alpha Victor," Liam mentioned his father's name with a degree of bitterness at the back of his throat.

'He won't be back today." Came her curt response.

'I know. I have been here for a few years." She told him before he could ask her how she knew.

It was quiet again and only the sounds of crickets could be heard. For the first time in a while, Liam felt the need to talk.

'I am Liam."

'Call me Aunt Olivia." She responded, mirroring his current position as she turned her head too to look at Liam's silhouette.

'Aunt Olivia?" Liam asked with caution and she nodded before smiling.

Liam knew she was smiling but could not see her face clearly to identify her smile.

'I hate being here." She suddenly said, looking at the sky slowly covering up with stars.

'Me too." Liam rubbed his almost fading blonde hair.

'I know." Olivia smiled reassuringly.

'You know?" He asked and she nodded slowly.

Liam felt her calm presence and was reminded of his mother, he missed her so much he had to cover his face to stop himself from crying.

‘Men don't cry.' Rang in his head, it was his father's voice shunning him to quietness when he was taught crying in the confines of his room.

'It's all right to cry," Olivia told the little boy whose body shook with extra large emotions.

Liam looked at her almost hidden face, and when he saw her give a nod, he scooted over to her, placed his head on her lap, and cried.

'I miss my mama." The little Liam confessed.

'I don't know what I missed but I know it's a lot." Olivia tapped his back till he fell asleep and she joined him.

They were up at the slightest movement they both heard, only to see it came from Diana.

'Heyyo?" She waved towards them, but Liam straightened up and looked away from her direction.

'Hello, little one. Come here." Olivia turned enthusiastic just to fit into Diana's character.

'Sit here." She tapped on her lap, and Diana sauntered towards her, but her eyes were on Liam all the time.

'Say hi to her Liam." Olivia encouraged, but Liam scoffed, stood up to his feet without looking back any further, and walked away from them.

'He will come around," Olivia told Diana who nodded, looking longingly at her brother's back.

Liam, who was still within earshot, scoffed before becoming invisible and walked through the gate without being stopped or noticed.

Running down the dark street till he came to a junction, he met two kids his age fighting.

From the distance, he already knew who they were. He wondered what they were fighting so furiously for as he approached them.

'You can't take it, it's for Liam!" The tomboyish girl shouted at the boy whose stubborn face was not giving way to her insistent shouts.

'He isn't here, is he?" The boy asked, his eyes on the tin of canned food sitting on the almost dirtied ground.

'He will be here."

'He wasn't here last night. He wasn't here the last two nights, he hasn't been here. Why do we always have to keep sharing the little we have?" Kia asked before bending to pick up the tin.

'Kia!" She shouted, the frustration on her face was clearly shown by the street lamp illumination on her face.

'It's okay Serenity, I understand." Liam had his hand on her shoulder to calm her down, and she calmed down, her face flushed red hearing his voice.
