'What is our next step?" Beta Stones walked behind the fast-paced Victor, whose face wasn't as bright as Stones expected it to be.

'How many times will I tell you to exercise patience?" He stopped in his steps and turned to look at Stones.

'This is the last time I will say this, follow my lead or leave." He continued walking.

Victor was in a hurry; he just received a distress signal that Olivia was in labor.

'How is she?" He asked one of the midwives who came out to take a break.

'She is well, Alpha, but I just don't understand her." The midwife's face was full of frustration.

'How so?" Victor paused to look at her properly.

'She just would not take in her, child. She keeps saying the child is not hers and that she has never had any child of her own. I mean, she was pregnant until a few minutes before the labor. I just can't understand why she said what she said or did what she did. Look, Alpha, she still feels the pain but would not accept that it's from childbirth; we have…"

'It's enough." Victor had to put his hand on her shoulder to stop her from rambling on.

She was infuriated and he understood her.

'Gender?"

'A female." She replied but her lips kept twitching.

'Something else?" He probably shouldn't have asked because when she opened her mouth again, she kept on rambling.

'The baby keeps crying but she would not feed the baby. Heck! She doesn't even want to touch her! How do we feed the poor child? It's not like we have running breast milk…"

Victor watched her talk, her hands making ceaseless motions in the air, her face mimicking every action she meant to portray.

'Are you finished?"

She gave an embarrassing bow.

'Take me to her." Alpha Victor had creased lines all over his forehead, his eyes lost their shine.

Everyone back at the Silverstone Pack thought he was like this because of the death of the Luna.

Victor stepped into the room just to get his ears assaulted by the haunting cries of a baby. His extra sensitive ears could not take it but seeing the situation at hand, his heart ached.

While the red-faced baby cried till her cries were merely stable but all in cracks, the mother just looked on as if there was nothing else she wanted than to be out of there. The midwives had their faces creased and confused.

'Alpha?" The one with the baby called, her face relieved.

'Alpha." The rest followed.

The one with the baby brought her to him and he imagined his son in his arms. Was this how he cried? Did she suffer this much because he wasn't there to witness it with her?

All Victor's wolf wanted him to do was to throw the pup away and get some peace, but he felt entitled to doing something, anything at all, to lessen the severity of the situation.

'I will take her out." He signaled to the little thing in his hand.

'Take her to my mate. Tell her to take care of her, it is an order." Victor ordered, nodding towards the silent Olivia, but his heart thumped.

What if he misplaced the pup in his hand? After putting a reasonable distance between the midwives and himself, he tried to put her to sleep but she didn't bulge.

His head went to the side, his face tight in a frown.

What just happened?

He teleported himself to the back of the pack house. Her cries were getting lower and Alpha Victor assumed she ran out of the strength to cry.

He concentrated hard, putting his glowing hand on her chest to put her to sleep and find another solution but she went on as if nothing was happening. Her hands and feet were moving in an inconsistent arc in the air.

Now he knew something was wrong; she resisted his ability, and guessing she would end up being a threat to him in the future, he put his pity behind the back of his heart; it was then he overheard a hush discussion.

'What should I do?" The voice was panicky.

'What do you mean what should you do? What happened, have you done something?"

'The pup. I mistakenly killed the pup." The female voice was barely audible but Victor could hear it.

When he was about to go closer, the baby in his arms suddenly became quiet, finding a way to place her thumb in her mouth, sucking it in as if her life depended on it which it did.

'What have you done Joana?" The male voice got intense.

Putting on his invisibility cloak, Alpha Victor got closer to them to understand their conversation.

'I don't know how I did it, I just did it. I can't explain." Her face was distressful, her hands on her waist as she shook.

'What do you mean by you don't know how you did it? You killed a whole pup, Joana!" His face was bewildered.

'You'd have to calm down, Steve, or else everyone will know I did it if you keep shouting this way." She was exasperated.

'Then what do you want to do?"

'Let's run, tonight." She was getting excited, she held his hand in place.

'We can't." He removed his hand from her grasp.

'We can Steve. If I die, you'd suffer for a while you know?" She eyed him.

'Is this a threat?"

'I would never threaten you."

'But we are rogues. No pack will accept us."

'I have heard of a pack who accepts strangers as long as they are assured. We can go there." Joana suggested, her eyes looking everywhere around her, she was jittering.

'Fine! We move tonight."

Alpha Victor moved closer to them, wanting to reveal his presence, but the baby in his hand stirred, making him pause. The last thing he wanted was her consistent cries.

Joana's eyes snapped towards his direction. He felt his heart thump in anxiety for the first time in a long time. Could she see him?

'I feel the presence of someone here." She commented.

'I thought my body was weird." Her mate added.

'You feel the same too?" She looked at him.

'Let's get out of here before we get caught." She dragged him with her as she ran out."

Alpha Victor's fierce eyes studied the pup in his hand for a while. What was that a few seconds ago? There was no way in hell an ordinary wolf could sniff out his presence as far as he made himself invisible but they did all because he was with her.

There was something about Alpha Rex's pup. With this, he knew she was meant to lead the pack without any opposition. He could not kill her but he had to do something immediately.

Ticking his jaw, he teleported to his bedroom.

'You just keep doing that," Jennifer commented before turning to look at him.

'Dada!" His two-year-old daughter ran towards him with her hands in the air.

'Not now Diana."

'Who is she?" Jennifer stood up and saw the red-faced baby in his hand.

'Don't tell me you had an affair and decided it was…"

'Shut the fuck up, Jennifer! You keep doing this."

'This is a pup, Alpha Rex's pup, all right?" He stared at her while she blinked rapidly at him.

Diana, who was used to this tense situation by now, just looked on, trying to understand what was happening.

'So…why do you have her? Don't tell me you…"

'Yes, I took her and held her hostage."

'What's your plan? You declared her dead already, so did you plan to kill her after this? Did you plan to take her powers for yourself?" Diana came closer to look at the pitiful pup.

A switch clicked in his head and he nodded.

'You will look after Olivia from now."

'What!?" Jennifer's surprise was expected.

'Get me a syringe." He ordered but she only stared at him.

'Get me a fuckin' syringe!"

She looked at him for a bit before leaving.

'Dada, baby." Diana pointed towards the baby.

'Yes, baby." He looked at his disappointment of a child who, unlike her other siblings, had shown no power yet.

'Here." Jennifer drew him out of his thoughts.

Right in front of his mate and last child, he injected the syringe into her arm to draw out blood earning another torment of cries from her.

'What do you think you are doing!?" Jennifer shrieked before covering Diana's eyes.

'Binding her wolf and numbing any other ability." Victor looked at the crying baby in disgust.

'Wh…what do you mean?" Jennifer was pale, she could not watch her husband's cruel act even though it didn't take more than three seconds.

'She is resistant to my powers. She will be a threat in the future."

'So…"

'Since I can't work my abilities on her, I will use her extracted blood as a link to her before putting it in a crystalized diamond pendant for Diana to wear."

'What!?" Jennifer's scream rose higher than the baby's cries.

'She is weaker than any of her siblings, she can't even resist a physical injury. Do you think she will survive this way in a pack like mine? I will place some healing spell on the pendant for her sake." He stood up and teleported himself out of the room, leaving Jennifer as shocked as she had ever been in her life.
