'Your fate has been decided." He looked down at Aiden with contempt.

'Go and prepare for your Mating ceremony. We will dine and make merry."

'No!" Aiden blurted out, making everything go to a standstill.

'Aiden!" His father warned.

'What did you just say?" Alpha Victor asked, coming down from his seat.

'I said No!" Aiden raised his voice to drive his point home.

Alpha Victor's fist met his tummy and the sound of flesh meeting flesh was heard.

'Get your ass moving, I don't have time to waste on you." Alpha Victor flung his hand in the air.

'I don't …"

'More words from you and you are dead." Beta Stone threatened his son.

Aiden was stuck between following his heart and the laid-out path he was meant to follow.

'Aiden," Diana called, she looked at him with pity in her eyes.

'Just do it."

Aiden gritted his teeth, his hand on his stomach as veins protruded from his neck.

'Get your ass moving." Alpha Victor walked out of the courtroom leaving the Beta's family and Diana in.

'I don't want to do this; I don't like you; I can't be with you." Aiden, who had struggled to get up, went to Diana.

She just stared at him; her eyes were sad, and she looked at his feet instead of his face.

'Our fate has been sealed already. We have to do this before thinking about the next thing to do." She finally looked up at him.

'I will be in my room." She informed him but Aiden looked away.

'If you need me, just think of me." She reached out to touch him but stopped.

She directed her gaze to the throne and made her decision, she would get herself and Aiden seated there and no one else. She would make sure to fulfill her late mother's wish and no one would stop her from doing so.

Aiden scoffed at her words and went back to sit on the floor.

'Get yourself prepared for your Mating ceremony." Beta Stones told his son who pretended he didn't exist.

'I said…"

'You can go fuck yourself, Stones." Aiden snapped at his father who stared at him with a bewildered expression.

Ria's mouth hung open, it wasn't what she expected.

'How dare you talk…"

'You can come beat me to death, I welcome it with open arms. It is part of my wish that you do." Aiden challenged.

Beta Stones stood still, he examined his son.

'You don't talk to your father like that." Ria butted in.

'Are you guys happy taking my freedom from me for your benefit?" Aiden felt his eyes sting.

Both parents stood speechless.

'Is it worth it? The prison you have sentenced me to." Aiden nodded slowly, his lips thinned.

'I won't get changed, I won't follow your new orders anymore, in few hours I will have a new superior. Thanks to you all." Aiden closed his eyes.

He refused to open it when he was being tapped to move.

'It is time." Alpha Victor's voice boomed in the courtroom.

Aiden opened his eyes to meet the eyes of a few persons in the courtroom. He struggled to stand on his feet, his hands by his side, praying the mating ceremony was over soon.

The double doors to the courtroom opened, and Diana stepped in dressed in a red flowing gown, her hair let loose and designed with red roses. Her lips were painted in red, her nails were not exempted too.

'You didn't put an effort for this special day?" Diana whispered to him when she had walked within his reach.

'It's special for you alone." Aiden spat, not wasting his gaze on her.

'This is still because of her right?" She asked him, tears almost getting out of her tear ducts.

Since Liam's attack on her, she had felt herself get emotional at the slightest thing. She needed to get back to her old self to get things done as usual.

'It still doesn't change the fact that we will be mated in a few minutes." Diana looked at him defiantly.

'And for your information, I will request for a soul bond. You can't leave even if you want to." She smiled at him.

Aiden fumed, he was about to retort when the loud sound of clapping cut his attention off.

'Enough of the chit-chat and admiring each other; let's get down to the main deal." Alpha Victor said he was dressed in a red suit making Aiden wonder if they have

'Before we start, I would love to make a request." Diana's hands raised her gown a bit above the floor.

'Yes, please." Alpha Victor was amused, having listened in on their conversation.

'Aiden and I would love to have a soul bond."

Silence washed the room clean; no one moved or made a noise except the Alpha, who sat down on his seat, his lips lifted in a large smile.

'Do you know the implication of a soul bond?" Beta Stones stepped forward, looking at Diana, then at his silent son.

'Yes Stones, I do."

'Aiden, are you in for this?" Ria called her son, she had her heart thumping in her chest. A soul bond is the most sacred bond of all, once one mate dies, the other follows.

'What do you think?" Aiden looked at his Mum, whose face, for the first time in a long while, showcased sadness, an emotion felt on his behalf.

'There we have it! A soul bond it is." Alpha Victor stood up, he was the only happy person in the courtroom.

'Let the vow be exchanged!" He declared he could perceive his victory extremely closer than he initially thought.

Beta Stones almost threw in the towel, he almost dragged his reluctant and unhappy son out of the courtroom but looking back, he knew he had gone too far to back down now.

Taking Aiden's hand, Diana looked into his hard eyes, happy to finally have him as hers. 'I, Diana Victor, take you, Aiden Stones, as my Mate, to live and to love till the end of our lives."

Aiden looked at Diana and could not muster the courage to say the vow. His lips opened and closed severally, he looked frustrated and stupid.

'Say it Aiden. Let's get this done with." Diana encouraged.

Aiden pictured Moon's sad eyes. He pictured her with Liam, his sworn enemy, and her happiness with him in the picture and tightened his grip on Moon.

‘You know you can't back down now.' Diana warned, his voice penetrating his head.

‘Stop thinking about the damn girl and say something, it's getting awkward.'

‘Say something! Or I will have to say it myself!' Diana warned the frown on her face was tight.

'Moon." Aiden ended up saying instead.

‘ARE YOU SERIOUS!?' Diana shrieked in his head making him stumble backward, his hand moving desperately to get her voice out of his head.
