'You look…" Moon was lost for words, her eyes taking in the new and carefree Becky.
'Like a cavewoman?" She smiled at her and Moon felt all her anger and hate for Becky dissipate into thin air.
'Well…"
'I know." Becky nodded, going towards the fire, and Moon walked briskly down there, too; she needed to get herself warm.
'You look awkward," Becky commented, observing the large chunk of meat hanging over the fire.
Moon felt her mouth water, seeing the steak left above the fire to cook.
'This aroma, I have…" Moon's brows furrowed in concentration as she tried to remember where she had perceived this before.
'Yeah, confession time. I left the parcel in front of your door." She said, looking into the fire, her black shiny air packed upwards in a complicated style.
Moon looks at her unblinkingly.
'I am not saying this so we can be friends or something, but I had never wanted to belong to Diana's group of friends till my parents forced me in. They said it would be for the benefit of our family, I had no other option than to join them." Becky said, turning the steak to the other side; her eyes looked sad.
Moon wanted to ask why she didn't retaliate till you remembered she couldn't stand her ground against her parents.
'Sorry." Moon offered in a tiny voice, she was getting warmer.
'Yeah, yeah, it's cool. Take this." Becky replied, bringing an ancient plate from nowhere containing a strange liquid.
Moon stared at it without actually moving to take it, she still could not let her guard down.
'I understand." Becky sounded sad, but she brought the plate to her lips, took a large sip, and made a show of gurgling it before swallowing it.
'See? It's completely free of poison or any other harmful substance." She pushed the plate towards Moon.
'Sorry."
'Nah, it's normal. It's for your cold." She crinkled her nose, nodding towards the plate.
'Thanks." Moon, who dreaded the taste of the content of the plate before drinking it, drank all of it at her first sip, the liquid leaving a sweet, sour taste on her lips but burning its way through her chest down into her stomach.
'You are welcome. Here, eat." Becky stretched out a plate full of meat to her.
'You should leave," Becky said looking at the blank wall of the cave.
'I won't be able to do this again."
'But, I can't…"
'Forget the Alpha's decree and leave." This time, Becky had her eyes on the wolf. Her aura completely changed and she commanded authority, dressed in a wolf skin and a hair for a crown.
'You won't survive." She finally said sadly.
Moon choked on her food, coughing badly but Becky didn't move an inch from her position.
'For Aiden…" She continued saying like she was possessed by something else.
'He can never be yours." Her tone was flat, and her eyes unexpressive.
If Moon hadn't stayed with her from a few minutes ago, she would have thought Becky had an ulterior motive but it wasn't like the thought of that was completely ruled out.
'He has a bit of feelings for you…BUT!"
Moon jumped at the ‘but' her heart thundering in her chest, her wide in terror. What if Becky decided to kill her? What was the possibility of this meat not being from an animal but from a human? She suddenly had an urge to throw up.
'You have different fates and paths." She declared, her eyes snapping towards Moon who stilled and swallowed.
The intensity of her eyes made Moon's breath hitch, but suddenly, Becky jolted and took a deep, loud breath before shaking herself as if to shake off whatever took hold of her.
'Moon?" She called, her voice gentle and her eyes shaky.
'Did I hurt you?" She asked again, her eyes roaming over Moon's body in concern, but Moon only shook her head slowly, still in a daze.
'Sorry, that was my wolf. My family came from the lineage of werewolves with the gift of prophecy." Becky exposed.
'But it's a secret. You can't tell anyone. Promise?" She pleaded.
'I promise." Moon nodded her head slowly, still unsure of what to think.
'What?"
'Do you all have abilities?"
'Just my family and I."
'But, Diana…"
'I suspected." Becky nodded, making a mental note not to let her secrets get to Diana's ear.
'It's against the pack law."
'You need to leave Moon." Becky, whose eyes darted around, said, standing to her feet, her skimpy skin coat almost falling off her.
'Now?" Moon's eyes also darted around, afraid she would be caught.
'Yes, now. Don't come back." Becky warned, throwing a fur coat over herself as she put something into the pocket of the coat.
'Wait!" She stopped Moon, throwing a flowery short A-cut gown at her.
'Change into this, you look terrible." Becky flashed her an apologetic smile.
Moon took her time undressing to carefully hide her scars.
'Feel free, Moon; I won't look." Becky smiled and turned away.
'I am all right now," Moon called out, feeling refreshed.
'Go ahead. I will meet you." She said running around to put off the fire.
Moon, who felt better and strengthened, crawled out of the hole, looking around for who it was, but found no one.
She half ran, and half walked towards the gate, only for an afterimage to flash past her eyes to the gate and back, touching her hand in the process.
She stopped to look back, but whoever it was, was nowhere to be found. She opened the piece of paper left in her hands.
[I knew you would stop, keep moving! •‿•]
It was Becky; she could not even see an image of her; thinking about the incredible speed and holding the piece of paper in her hand, Moon moved forward towards the half-opened gate.
With one leg out, she felt her pulse quicken. What if she got caught? She could not bear to face the dire consequences of it. Escaping the pack after the Alpha's verdict.
Shaking her head to rid herself of any opposing thoughts, Moon quickly stepped out of the gate, only for Becky's blurry figure to run past the gate, closing it on her face.
Standing outside the gate, Moon felt lost. What was she to do next? Where was she to go from there?
She started perspiring, it all felt weird. What if this itself was the major set-up to get her banished from the group forever?
Not wanting to stand in front of the huge gate for a longer period or give in to the thought of knocking on the gate, she began walking down the lonely dark street.
As she took several steps forward, it began to dawn on her, she had been here before!
Back in the pack house, her brain was a mesh of confusing and lost memories but now it was all coming back to her. It was as clear as the day can be.
'LIAM!?" She screamed his name, her heart tearing apart with every thought of the possibility he had forgotten about her just like she did.
She began to run towards their meeting place unaware of the figure following closely behind her.
