Chapter 37

1100words
Moon's POV

I had walked into the house after Diana's threat without any care, I was tired and sick of everything happening.

So what if I am the weakest in the pack? So what if my wolf isn't strong enough to manifest itself?

Taking out the leftover steak from where I hid it, I bit into it, and soon, it disappeared right into my tummy, leaving me with an oily hand.

They can do their worst, I thought as I washed my hands and climbed to my bed to sleep.

Still feeling bits of pain, I stood up from the bed, took off my gown, and raised my pillow to unveil the ointment before applying it around the parts of my body where my hands could reach. It was blissful.

When I was done, I closed It, kept it in my wardrobe, dressed back up, and jumped into bed, hoping to catch some sleep, but it didn't come easy. My mind ran from the thought of Liam, to who it possibly was who left the package at the door.

Looking at my blank ceiling for a while, the thought of Aiden drifted into my head. He has always been a kind soul till I stupidly decided to confess my feelings.

The teenage girl was curled up into a ball on the stony floor, her hands covering her head in protection, she was quivering, not daring to look at the roaming wolves around her.

One of the wolves had its claw out, swiping Moon's back, earning a yelp from her.

'You guys! Stop this else I will report your illegal transformation to the Alpha!" Aiden, who had just run in after seeing what was happening from afar stood in front of Moon, his hands spread out to stop them from coming closer.

'You are no fun at all Aiden. We just wanted to help her eject her wolf." Dianna's lips raised to the left side, her eyes completely looking down on Aiden

'That's no way to help! Leave or face the consequences." He had ordered the three girls, his lean body not moving an inch, the black of his eyes bore into theirs and they too transformed back to their human form.

'We would see later, hmm?" Diana moved towards Moon, who began to whimper.

Aiden moved in front of her, his hands still spread wide and his messy dark hair getting messier by the moment.

'All right, tsk, we will move. Happy?"

'Just go!" He yelled, his help warming Moon's heart.

Nobody had ever stood up for her before, not even her parents. They'd rather turn a blind eye to her predicament, and if she had as much as requested attention, she would get extra Ill-treatment.

'Are you all right?" He squats quickly, scanning her face and his hand roaming her exposed body for any sign of hurt.

Moon looked at his face and got lost in his black orbs filled with concern. The wind messed with his already messy hair, and he had to fight to keep it in place, his wet red lips parting in the process.

That was when her big-time crush on him started.

'Hello?" He waved a hand at her face waking her up from her reverie.

'Yes, yes, I am fine." She had winced and flinched as she tried to stand up on her own.

'No, you are not." He said and went behind her.

'Jeez!" He exclaimed, making her jump before halting.

'What?"

'No, it isn't a big deal. I was only shocked, that's all." Came Aiden's reassuring voice but she knew more than that.

She knew he was trying his best to console her. It was her body, so she knew where he hurt the most. The wetness from her back made her know she was bleeding, but to keep him around her longer, she twisted her face even harder. Resorting to a limp.

Running to squat in front of her, he said, 'Hop on, let me give you a piggyback ride; you can't walk back."

Moon clapped her mouth to prevent a squeal as she hurriedly climbed his back, her heart expanding with so much love to give to a love-deprived child like herself.

I shook my head at the memory that floated into my head as I drifted asleep, a long and peaceful one for someone who fell multiple times and secured lots of injuries during the day.

A loud bang jolted me out of bed, my eyes wide open at the rush of feet into my humble room.

'What is going on?" I panicked when the content on my old vanity was cleared to the floor.

'Don't leave anything untouched!" Came the order of the Alpha's guard.

The Alpha's guard!

My eyes widened, my body trembled and I began shaking. So it was a setup, after all. But I expected someone else and not the Alpha.

Without thinking, I lurched forward into the midst of the chaos happening in my room, but I was thrown back again, and I winced.

'So you are the culprit after all." Someone whispered into my ears and I turned my face to see Diana's smiling face.

'What are you up to?" My heart was beating faster than it should.

'Eew! Your breath sucks." She replied instead, covering her face.

I didn't expect her to burst into tears, shaking at the impact of it, and soon, Amira was by her side, consoling her with her hands and words. Lilian tagged along, but her steps were much slower, a visible purplish-red mark around her neck.

Diana's words were incoherent, not that I cared to listen closely to what she was spewing. My eyes caught that of Aiden's as he lingered by the door post, I broke the contact first, looking past him to the many others standing by and wanting to know the outcome of the search.

I flinch again as my bed is upturned. My eyes led me to the odd one out of the four, I stared at Becky, and she stared back, wide-eyed and transfixed.

Knowing allowing them to find it out themselves will bring more punishment so I decided to surrender.

'I know where it is. I will bring it!" I said as loudly as I could as I went down on my knees with difficulty, my head bowed and my eyes closed. I couldn't face any of them.

'What!?" That voice gave me chills, and opening my eyes to see them up close made me fall to the floor, my air pipe constricted as I struggled to breathe.
