“Wow,I Googled her—she’s legit!”
“She’s Dr.Elias Quinn’s only granddaughter!”
“At 22,she made breakthroughs.At 25,she saved a rare-disease patient.”

“Her grandfather, the expert, died last year. She’s the only one left who can treat it—and they broke her arm!”
My identity spread.Patients’families spoke up.
“I’m not tech-savvy,but my daughter lent me her phone.Dr.Quinn saved my wife.We owe her everything!”
“She stayed late, always thinking of us.I was suicidal—she pulled me off a ledge, promising a cure.”
“My grandma too!We couldn’t pay,but Dr.Quinn covered her bills!”
“My little brother was given up on by others.Dr.Quinn took him in,giving us hope!”

More voices joined,flooding the stream.
My nose stung, guilt for my patients overwhelming me.
Someone shouted,“Silverton General issued a statement!Dr.Quinn’s a hero!”
The comments on the live stream erupted in outrage.

Sophie’s fans turned,cursing her.
“Support Dr.Quinn—punish this monster!”
“She’s got a level - two injury, and she’s playing the victim? I’d give her a slap myself!”
“She’s headed for jail!”
“Let’s expose all her personal information!”
Panicked,Sophie shut the stream.
“These idiots, eating up lies, acting like heroes.”
“We’re not paying a dime!Only fools would do that!”
She hurled a vase at me.
Lucas quickly shielded me,but when he chased her,she vanished.
We called the police.
Sophie fled, without even going back home. The police staked out her place but found nothing.
I laughed.Did she think hiding from the law made her safe?
Justice serves to protect not only the innocent.
She’d dug her own grave.
A week later,I was recovering.
Mom and Dad came to visite, awkwardly clashing.
They argued,Mom slapping Dad down.
“Think you can hit me?I learned karate after leaving you—I can take ten of you!”
Dad,wiping blood,whined,“Our daughter’s hurt—why hit me?”
“It’s your fault for not raising Lucas right!Look at his girlfriend!”
I stopped them.“Enough.I’m tired.”
Mom took my hand and said,“Don’t worry, sweetie. If you can’t be a doctor, come run Horizon. It’s yours.”
I declined.“Who says I can’t be a doctor?Medicine is my life.”
Like Grandpa,I’d dedicate myself to it.
