My aunt Karen poured out her grievances to my mom, saying that Lily, traumatized from the wedding, locked herself in her dark room, not eating or drinking. In just a week, she lost several pounds.
At this time, I was looking at houses.I sold the small apartment I had bought before and used the money I had saved, along with the money I got from other sources, to buy a large four-bedroom house in full. At first, Dad and Mom wanted to celebrate, inviting Aunt Karen and Uncle Mike.
I refused.
They didn’t get it.”Claire, buying a house is a happy event, and having a dinner is for good luck.”
I was looking at today’s stock market and briefly explained why I didn’t want to host a dinner.
“Buying a house should be kept low-key. Nowadays, everyone in society is under a lot of pressure, and there are too many people who are unhappy and envious.”
Mom nodded.
“Mom, you guys help me keep this a secret, and you’ll understand later.”
My parents heeded my advice and didn’t mention the dinner again.
A month later,Uncle Mike’s wife,Aunt Judy, posted in the family group chat:their son Noah got into Silverton High.
Mike booked a private room at a fancy restaurant to celebrate—and to ask about housing.
Noah refused to dorm, and Judy, cunning, eyed Lily’s new condo near the school.
Last life,Lily agreed to let them stay, then claimed her place was under renovation, dumping Judy and Noah at my apartment.
Lily didn’t have the key to my apartment at all. She showed my phone number and said that we were relatives, and then she found someone to pry open the door lock
I was on a month-long work trip and returned to find them settled.
As family,I couldn’t evict them,so I let them stay.
My one-person apartment became cramped.
Judy was a very slovenly person. In less than a month, the house became a garbage dump.
I asked her to clean as”rent.”
She blamed my”tiny”space, saying no amount of cleaning helped.
I was so angry that I almost fainted. This house was originally for me to live in alone. Of course, it seemed crowded with three people living in it.I couldn’t stand it after living there for two months and moved back to my parents’ house.
But unexpectedly, my colleague said that they saw my nude photos and shower videos on an overseas website.
Noah had hidden cameras in my room and bathroom.
Judy,a cheapskate, gave him no allowance,so he sold my images.
After my parents found out, they went to my uncle’s house to ask for an explanation, and my dad was so angry that he directly called the police.
Lily played saint:”Claire,you’d report him?That’s cruel,ruining a boy’s future.He’s just a rebellious teen—he’ll grow out of it.Noah’s clever,making thousands easily.The Perry line’s got hope for the future!”
Judy beamed at Noah.”Exactly! My boy’s a geniusIt’s just a few photos of you. There’s no need to make such a fuss and call the police!”
Aunt Karen and Mike’s family sided against us.
Mom shielded me,snapping,”A few photos? What are you talking about? Taking my daughter’s photos and spreading them around isn’t a small matter! I must call the police!”
Dad demanded justice to seek justice for me and make sure that Noah would be punished.
