Nathan was caught off guard when I grabbed him. Due to the momentum, he ended up falling further than me, teetering on the cliff edge.
He clung to me, tears streaming down his face as he plead, "Emily, don’t let go! I don’t wanna die!"
Looking at him in his panic, I laughed. "I'm asking you, did you just try to kill me?”

He shook his head frantically, denying any such intention. "No, wife, I swear, I was just joking around."
I stared at him coldly. "This is your last chance. Out here in the middle of nowhere, if I let go, no one would ever know."
He had no choice but to confess. "I'm sorry! It's Claire who told me to push you off the cliff. She said no one would suspect me. They'd just think you fell by accident."
"Have you and Claire been involved for a while now?"
He nodded, the guilt evident on his face. “Yeah, she seduced me six months ago on that trip. She climbed into my bed, but I couldn’t resist at that time."
Seeing the changing on my face, he begged, "I'm scum, I know. Save me, and I'll be devoted to you forever, I promise you.”

"How can I trust you? Who knows if won't try something else on me? Rember those men who intruded in our house that night? You hired them, right?"
He nodded sheepishly. "Wife, I know you can't trust me anymore, but I'll prove my sincerity. I won the lottery. Can we split it fifty-fifty?"
Finally, he spilled the truth. I exhaled, relieved. The reason I'd come to the cliff with was...
It worked.

“What lottery?”
"I won a hundred million. I planned to divorce you, marry Claire, and live a large life."
“You never thought of sharing with me, your wife?”
"Of course I did! But Claire convinced me to keep it. You know she’s…persuasive."
I smirked cruelly. "Oh, I forgot to tell you I got checked and confirmed—I’m fertile. You’re the one who can’t have kids."
He blinked, confused. "But Claire’s three months pregnant. The timing fits."
I mocked. "That lying tramp fooled you."
He cursed. "She made me a fool!"
“If you want me to save you, give me the lottery ticket."
He hesitated. "I’ll tell you later, get me up first."
I laughed. "That way, tell me in a dream."
"All right! It's in a safety deposit box at Riverside Bank. Its password's in accordance with Mom’s birthday."
