An ambulance wailed into the night as paramedics rushed the critically injured Steven to the hospital.
Doctors treated his numerous lacerations, but his psychological state worried them more than his physical wounds.
When Linda entered with police officers, Steven's pupils contracted to pinpoints and his body convulsed violently.
"Stay back! You're a fucking corpse! You destroyed my family!" Steven shrieked.
Linda backed away in apparent shock as Steven continued his hysterical tirade.
"I saw you! I saw everything!" He clawed at his IV tubes, ripping them free.
Medical staff swarmed in to restrain him as a nurse plunged a sedative into his arm.
"I'm not the killer! It's her! She made me do it!" Steven shouted as they pinned him down.
"Jessica's death wasn't my fault! It was my mother! And my father! I just wanted her to shut up!"
The police officers exchanged glances, one discreetly activating a recording device.
The attending physician diagnosed severe PTSD with acute psychotic features.
The bizarre case file soon landed on the desk of the FBI's Unexplained Phenomena Unit.
Agent Rogers frowned as he thumbed through the disturbing reports from Raven Valley.
Hospital surveillance footage showed Steven conversing with empty air, recoiling from invisible terrors.
Veteran detective Thompson tapped the file thoughtfully. "That old woman Betty was onto something. Jessica's disappearance must be connected to this family."
Police secured a warrant for the Kane residence and discovered the horrifying basement studio. The evidence they found—Steven's streaming setup and recordings—revealed atrocities that would have put him away for life.
But as they prepared to make arrests, shocking news came from the hospital: Steven had vanished.
His hospital room window stood wide open, curtains billowing in the night breeze.
Security footage showed that at 3:17 AM, the screen suddenly turned to static, which lasted for exactly eight minutes.
When the picture cleared, Steven was gone—vanished without a trace.
