Chapter 16

I know it is impromptu and out of the blue but I can't help it. The feel of her lips against mine is addictive, and just the softness of her breasts against mine hardens my member.
I can't read her expression; it is as blank as a clean slate. Then, as if possessed by a demon, she starts out jerking as if having a fit of cough before opening her mouth wide to let out the strangest kind of laughter. I have never heard it in my life.
It goes on like this for a while to my irritation with her slowly reducing the intensity of her laughter only to pick up her pace again.
'I don't see anything funny in my words," I told her and she took her sweet time trying to be calm.
'Why?"
'Why what?" I ask but when she doesn't answer me, I think.
'My request?"
'What happened to accepting me back then?" She questions again before sinking into the bed.
Placing both hands behind her on the bed and leans backward, her face easing as she sighs in exhaustion.
'Please leave."
'And my reply?"
'You came too late." She said and I felt my chest burn with jealousy.
Too late?
'Don't tell me you are referring to that lunatic?" I started wanting to force her eyes open to look at me.
'Yes, that lunatic showed me enough love in a few days." Her lips parted like they wanted to still utter some words, but she closed them again.
'It is forbidden…"
'I don't care."
'You can't be with him, Moon!" I try to reduce my voice to avoid attention, she is getting to me.
She doesn't respond and keeps her eyes closed.
'Moon?" I call.
'I am sorry Liam." I hear her whisper to the air, and I flare; that name does something to my guts.
'We kissed so we have to be in a relationship." I find myself saying forcefully.
'Pardon?" She finally opens her eyes to look at me.
The Moon I see now is a far cry from the Moon from weeks before now. Did my rejection change her this much?
'We kissed."
'An abuse, a mistake, it was disgusting." She utters those words looking straight into my eyes.
I know the reaction she wanted to see, but I don't give her the satisfaction of seeing that.
'You can't see him again," I say softly, my lips tucked in themselves.
'I can't date you secretly." She counters, and I fix the missing pieces.
She wants an open relationship, it isn't something I can give her due to the role I have to play and my responsibility. Thinking deeply while holding her gaze, I consider the possibility of it. I could date her in public and make it look like I had to just play along to her whims to avoid the wrath of my parents and the elders.
'You want a public relationship?"
'Like you can." She says and closes back her eyes, shifting the weight placed on her hands.
'Let's do it," I tell her and see her eyes snap open again.
There were a lot of emotions dancing in the green of her eyes and I know I see hatred among them.
'We can't. I won't. The kiss was a mistake that will never happen again." She says, breathing in before looking at me.
'I will never date you even if you were the last man on earth." She said without any emotion.
It hurt; it wasn't supposed to hurt this much; I had to catch myself and stop myself from gasping for air.
'Fine, you can't see him again. Not now, not ever!" I spat, I needed to display any opposite emotion to show how unaffected I am by the hurtful words she hurled at me.
'Or what?" This time, she raises to her feet.
I see tears making her eyes shine under the dim reflection of the moonlight in the room.
'You'd expose my secret?"
'Go ahead. Do it."
'What's the worst they can do that hasn't been done already?" She asks and my heart cracks all over again.
'Moon?" I whisper coming close to her.
It's so dangerously close that my heart keeps pounding. I think I have just found out how strong my love is for her.
Suppressing this emotion of mine from the beginning of time due to the order I got had never been easy but the thought of seeing her with someone else who would probably love her more than I will ever do is discomforting.
'But I love him." She said peering at me from her lashes.
I am tempted more than ever to lock my lips with her juicy plump one but I hold myself back. I will do everything it takes to keep her back in the pack house.
'You don't. Trust me."
She looks down for a moment before looking up at me. 'Then what?" She asks again.
'You just needed someone at that moment."
'And that someone came through for me."
'But that isn't the kind of love you want for a romantic relationship."
'Then yours is?" She asked, giving a tut.
That's enough.
'Listen to me, Moon…"
'If you are about to tell me I can't be with Liam, don't. And please do well to leave my room Aiden." She finally calls my name at last and my member throbs at that.
All through her words, my eyes only focus on the movement of her lips, her near-perfect white dentation calling loudly to me.
In the space of a few seconds, my eyes traveled to the loose curls of brown hair detached from the loosely packed bun, the beauty in her green eyes, and the fragility in her build. I craved to hold her close to me and have her alone to myself.
'Moon?" I called again and drew closer to her, allowing my finger to go close to her face and draw the aimless line on her cheek.
I see the wrinkle of displeasure on her face but I ignore it. Leaning in to kiss her, I feel a stinging pain on the left side of my cheeks
