Derek pulled out his IV, getting out of bed.

"What do you want to do?" Emilio stood up and followed.

Derek didn't turn around, he put on his shoes and went out, speaking coldly. "Discharge from hospital."

"Huh? You've only been here for a few days now. You have to let the doctor check you again."

He quickly chased after him and saw Derek suddenly standing at the door of the hospital room.

Waiting until he got closer, Derek opened his palm and spoke. "Lend me your cell phone."

This talent selection program was held extremely successfully, so Angel's stock price increased rapidly, and they reaped a wave of praise.

In the evening, Bertha stood backstage chatting with Mica about further resource issues, when her phone suddenly rang.

She lowered her head to look, it was Emilio.

What does Derek want to do?

She was in a happy mood but in just a blink of an eye, her joy fell into the abyss.

Calmly took the phone call, she hadn't said anything yet, the low voice on the other end of the line had already spoken first.

"Bertha, it's me."

Although puzzled, Bertha didn't want to ask too many questions. "What?"

'I have been discharged from the hospital, to celebrate the success of your first program, I will go home and cook a sumptuous meal. I'll wait for you to come home and eat together, okay?"

He finished speaking, and the last syllable contained fear, fear that she would refuse, he expected her to answer.

Bertha felt it, she was silent for two minutes.

During these two minutes, Derek waited very impatiently, his heart beat very fast, but he didn't say anything, he gave her time to think.

"I can't do it tonight, I have an appointment to go to a celebration party, I'll talk about it another day."

She was about to hang up the phone.

On the other end of the line came the man's worried sound. "Don't hang up. Are you going to eat with Kirjani and Venn?"

Bertha didn't lie. "Yes."

"So..." Derek hesitated. "Noa was there too?"

"Yes."

She calmly, answered coldly, like throwing a bomb into a lake, causing Derek's heart to explode in an instant.

Derek bit his thin, white lips, begging her.

"Can you please not go? Before, I wasn't a good cook, but I will study hard. Tonight, you can go back to the beach villa, okay?"

Bertha couldn't stand his tone.

"No, it's not negotiable."

The corners of Derek's lips were bitten very tightly. "If you don't come back, tomorrow I will invite journalists to a press conference. I will tell everyone that I am yours."

Bertha heard that and smiled.

She reminded him seriously. 'You are just my employee."

'I am your special employee."

"Derek."

Bertha was distraught, she growled, startling Mica sitting next to her.

Seeing her angry, Derek was confused. "I'm sorry, I just want you to go back to the beach villa for a meal. Even if you feel I'm not worthy to eat with you, I can stand and watch you eat."

Bertha was speechless.

What's wrong with this man lately?

She didn't want to argue with him, agreed. "I'll go back to the beach villa, but I have to wait until the congratulatory party is over, it might be late."

"It's okay, even though it's late, I'll still wait."

Even though he couldn't stop her from going to the celebration party, no matter what, except for Noa, there were still other people there, Noa wouldn't be able to do anything to Bertha.

After hanging up the phone, Derek hurriedly completed the hospital discharge procedures.

Emilio said he would take care of Derek until he recovered. Now that Derek has been discharged from the hospital, he has no reason to follow Derek back to the beach villa. So he called and told Tyrone and Tommy to pick Derek up, and he went home and received punishment for being temporarily fired.

At the villa by the sea.

As soon as he returned, Derek rushed into the kitchen, studying the cookbook. There was food in the refrigerator, so he didn't need to worry.

It took him nearly three hours to make a table full of sumptuous dishes, and each dish was tasted by him to ensure the right taste.

Furthermore, because Derek did not know specifically when Bertha would return, he covered the dishes to prevent them from getting cold.

Having done all this, he sat on the sofa and waited.

Two hours passed, and the food gradually cooled, he put it in the pot to warm it up again and then continued to wait.

When he raised his head to look at the time, he discovered that it was four in the morning.

It's so late but she still hasn't come back, why did the party take so long?

Derek sat dumbfounded on the sofa, suddenly in front of him appeared the scene of Bertha at the party, everyone was noisily asking Bertha and Noa to drink together.

He stood up. It can not be.

Impossible.

He turned around and headed out the door. Before he could reach the flower garden, Tyrone and Casey stopped him.

"Mr. Derek, it's late, you can't go out right now."

'I'm going to find Bertha."

Tyrone, Casey still didn't move. "Mistress will come home after finishing her work. Besides, she already has Tommy protecting her by her side, so just wait patiently."

If Tommy was on guard tonight, Derek would talk a little easier. Tyrone and Casey already don't like him, so it's harder for Derek to talk to them.

Having no other choice, Derek had to go back inside the house and continue waiting.

The waiting period was long and difficult.

During this time, he thought about many things.

He vaguely remembered the past three years, Bertha had called him many times, and she hoped he would come home to eat with her. Sometimes he will answer a few questions, other times he doesn't want to talk to her, he will directly hang up the phone, and won't come back two or three days later.

It turned out that the feeling of waiting all night was so unpleasant.

He raised his head to look at the clock hanging on the opposite wall. His eyes moved along the minute hand. Suddenly, he fell asleep on the sofa without realizing it.

Not long after, he was awakened by the sound of the door opening.

Seeing that the person who came in was Bertha, his face was filled with joy, he stood up to greet her. 'You're home, the food is cold, let me warm it up."

Bertha coldly refused. 'No need, I've already had breakfast."

"Have breakfast?"

Derek looked at the clock on the wall, it was after seven in the morning.

She didn't come home last night.

He sat on the sofa waiting all night.
