Chapter 78

1020words
Early the next morning.

Laura got out of bed, got dressed, and put on makeup early, making sure she appeared before the reporters flawlessly.

Reporters from media stations arrived outside the press conference venue early, holding cameras and microphones and standing next to the door, they just wanted to take exclusive photos as soon as possible.

Laura elegantly and leisurely exited the car, smiling brightly at the camera lenses.

'It is a pleasure to meet you here today. Today I will fulfill my fiancé Derek's promise to tell everyone the truth. Because Derek temporarily has something to deal with, I will chair this press conference, I will expose the truth to everyone."

She looked around without any hesitation and picked up the prepared speech draft.

The reporters spoke in low voices about her confidence.

After hearing the praise from the reporters in the front row, she felt even more proud.

'Not long ago, my fiancé's ex-wife, Miss. Bertha, secretly bribed the assassins to set a trap to seriously injure me, and my stay in the hospital lasted up to a week. She also gave me a wreath that insulted my character during that time. I'm sure everyone knows this."

'At first I ignored it, but I didn't expect that she would go crazy and take my sister Olwen, who had become a vegetable, out of the hospital and brutally kill her."

Laura excitedly recounted Bertha's "evil behavior", she was so agitated that two tears flowed from her eye sockets.

The reporters stirred and began to gossip and whisper.

Laura continues her rich, heart-wrenching condemnation of Bertha.

'Today's press conference is not only to restore my innocence, but most of all, I want to condemn her cruel behavior. Greer's house will not tolerate humiliation like this."

Her words were like a big rock falling into a lake, causing thousands of waves to rise in the hall.

The reporters and onlookers were so frightened by her words that they began to talk loudly.

'Your statements also need to be grounded. Can you show us the evidence? You speak without evidence, it is really difficult to make everyone present here completely believe." There was a reporter asking questions.

'Of course, I have proof, anyone is no exception."

Laura prepared, she projected the falsified evidence on the big screen behind her.

She moved aside, revealing the images on the screen. She speaks. 'This is a transcript and screenshot of Bertha's transaction to bribe an assassin, intending to harm others. This is the hospital camera recording when she took my sister away..."

As soon as the photos were posted, some reporters were angry and stood up.

'It's too much. She is too stubborn. Let's go to Angle's company together and ask them to explain this matter."

"Content. There are so many of us, we are not afraid of them."

All the reporters stood up, and the surrounding people were also infected by their anger.

Laura stood on the stage looking at everything driven by her one hand, the corners of her mouth curled up.

'It seems you rejoiced too soon. The so-called truths you have exposed to everyone are the complete opposite of the truth."

A clear female voice, accompanied by the rhythmic sound of high heels tapping on the ground, rang out.

Although the sound is not loud, it has penetrating power.

Everyone's cheers and commotion suddenly fell silent.

Laura turned her head to look back, her gentle smile gradually disappearing.

Bertha, wearing a tight red mermaid dress that hugged her body, slowly walked over. She was like a blooming rose, both dangerous and captivatingly beautiful.

On her face was a simple smile, she looked straight at Laura fearlessly.

'You're not dead yet?"

Laura looked at her in horror.

"Where did Miss Laura know about my death? There hasn't been any news about me in the past few days. Did you send someone to kill me?"

Bertha caught her loophole and immediately scoffed back.

Reporters and the public turned their heads to look at Laura, waiting for her answer.

The hall was silent, only Bertha and Laura stood looking at each other.

Laura quickly remembered that there were still media at the scene. She immediately regained her composure and spoke. 'I just heard you died, there's nothing to be confused about. Since you are here, I have something to confront you with."

She was aggressive and threatening, deciding to stick to Olwen's business. 'That day, why did you lead my sister out of the hospital? Furthermore, without the consent of Greer's house, you arbitrarily performed surgery on her, causing something bad to happen to her. If you are doing these things to target me then please deal with me, my sister is innocent."

She pretended to be pitiful, tears sparkling in her eyes.

These words made everyone awake, they were angry and wanted to kill Bertha

Being condemned by everyone, Bertha was not angry at all.

She crossed her arms over her chest and smiled sarcastically.

'Laura's statement was outstanding. But unfortunately, you are about to be exposed."

Laura did not give in. 'We haven't seen each other for a few days, and you're still so stubborn. Anything must have evidence."

'I am the proof."

A weak voice suddenly rang out from outside the hall

Right after that, a bodyguard pushed a wheelchair in.

The person sitting in that wheelchair had a pale face, and his tired face did not hide the emaciation after a serious illness.

Bertha moved aside, allowing everyone in the hall to see who was coming.

'Olwen? Aren't you already dead? How could… what happened?"

Laura was surprised.

She was originally so happy that she couldn't sleep for several nights because the two women she hated died.

But now, they are still alive and appearing in the hall.

She was so angry that she vomited blood on the spot.

'Olwen. My daughter."

Mrs. Darla ran to Olwen's side, she sat down in front of her daughter, her trembling hands caressing Olwen's face.

That her daughter Olwen is still alive.

'Darling, I know you'll be okay, I know you'll wake up."
